Oasis of the Sea what's better port or starboard?

We would like our cabin to be dock side when we are in port when possible.  What would be the best option for Port Canaveral and Nassau, port or starboard?  Thanks much!!

It varies.  They do not always dock on the same side as things like maintenance influence it.  And, it's not  a regular schedule.   Just pick a side and go with it.

We port side  on Oasis by watching the PC webcam and it was docked port side until the time we sailed which then they were parked starboard.  So good luck and just pick the side with the room you would like.

I’ll go starboard side 3-4 cruises in a row then switch to port side just to confuse my directionally challenged wife.🤣

The Oasis interior is set up to favor docking on the starboard side.  Unless there are some specific maintenance issues or life boat testing, Oasis will usually dock on the starboard side.

Whatever side you pick it will be the wrong side.

90% of the time Oasis docks on the Starboard side, (designed to do so).  We like starboard out of PC simply because as you leave the port, starting to curve to the south...you will have a great view of the sunset from your balcony.

Even if Oasis has some sort of activity planned at one of the ports that require a port side docking the chances are most of the ports will be starboard side.

 

If it is important to you then book starboard. That will give you the best odds.... and hope for the best.

We always pick the Starboard side. Even when we're facing aft, we're on the starboard half facing aft.

For us it all depends on itiniary. If we go to San Juan, as an example, and leave after dark, we prefer starboard side to enjoy the lit-up El Moro fort.

That is kind of mean Ken, but I like it. I might try that just to see how confused  my wife would get.

What’s mean is when the kids and I all stop once we exit the elevator and wait for her to decide which way to turn.  She’s such a good sport.

I think we could get a lot of walking in if we followed our wives. Mine is not such a good sport though. She gets frustrated if she starts going the wrong way and I correct her.

To me, the best side is always the one we're on.

I always book the same side of the ship, between fore and aft elevators, to keep myself oriented on how to find the room.

In the old days it meant something, thus the word POSH, Port out, Starboard home. You didn't want to be on the same side as the sun as there was no AC on those old ocean liners especially on north-south routes.

We have never booked a cruise caring what side of the ship our cabin was on.
