Caribbean Princess Obstructed View Emerald Deck

Recommended Posts

The wife and I are looking to squeeze in a third cruise next year and we have put a deposit on the 16 Night August cruise to Canada New England and Greenland Cruse on the Caribbean Princess.

Since this is squeezing in a 3rd cruise in 2022, we booked an obstructed view on the emerald deck .  This save us $1800 over a standard Ocean View.  I found a web site that shows the views out the windows and we picked E307 which is in between the life boats, so less obstructed.

However it is over the casino. Has anyone sailed in these cabins who can tell me if you hear noise from the Casino?   What time of day night?   Was it super loud or barely audible?   We have time to change to another cabin, and are trying to gauge if this is necessary.

We usually go for the obstructed view cabins. Deck 8. Looked up your window view, good choice. The only noise I can imagine coming from the casino is ringing if someone wins. I don't think I've ever heard someone win. Joking aside, we've never had a problem with any noise on deck 8 with several sailings and as you know, there is a lot going on on deck 7.

Can you provide the link for the website that shows the views from the obstructed windows?  We are in one for November and have just picked based upon the room map on Princess.  Not sure how a site could have views from all the rooms unless someone has access to all the rooms, but anything might help.

Thx

Don

Here you go.  They have members post pictures and then they add them as they have come in, I think?  Maybe the person has an in with the industry, but based on the fact that pictures seem to be taken at different times in different ports, I think they are grass roots taken and submitted by traveler.  Hope this is OK with CC, if not please remove link:

Keep in mind that the Emerald obstructed view cabins in the 100's have people walking by on the upper part of the promenade deck.

Hard to see inside during the day, but at night easier when you have lights on inside the cabin. However the upper part is often closed off at night.

Originally started by @Renmar. He asked for pix and posted them. Eventually, got to big for just one man and moved it to its current location. AFAIK all the pix are contributed by cabin "owners".

I may ask for a different room if or when I need to call Princess on other matters.  Not really dissatisfied with our view compared to most of the others.  Maybe could increase the scope of the unobstructed portion of the view a bit, but our view is functional.  The ones in the 100 block do appear to offer more of a view.

A few that look good on the Princess ship diagram actually look into a utility room rather than directly outside.  Glad we didn't pick one of those ones.

We usually book obv rooms when destinations are more important than the room. We try for a room mid lifeboat as  there is minor view blockage. Sounds counterintuitive but you are not  looking at mechanisms from 2 lifeboats when booking between boats. The link shown here is spot on. Our favorite room is E215. Good luck.

I did. It seems much better than many of the others and I want to confirm if it’s really that good or if there’s a ‘gotcha’ or an error. Thanks

We just returned from Caribbean Princess cabin 416. Decent view as shown on links. However, this is our first OV and it was fine, Balcony would have been $1400 more. Port intensive itinerary, one sea day, we decided OV would be adequate and it was. Therefore the 'view' was not as important as daylight was. Promenade was just one deck down if we wanted to be 'outside'. So, I would not sweat the view.

Thank you so much for this WBC.  I just booked E706 and I am absolutely delighted with the view ... virtually no obstruction!!

Those obstructed OV cabins really are convenient. So easy to just nip down one deck to the promenade.

Just booked E706.  Looking at this site and it seems this cabin has a great view. Is the picture correct?

Yes the pictures are correct. I took about 70% of the obstructed view cabin pictures and made sure they were all correct before I transfered my website to the current website. E 706 is a good one with just a little obstruction. Enjoy your cruise.
