Yes, but with no slight to Princess, the Four Seasons Hotel chain is a top-of-the-market luxury hotel chain, while Princess is a very good mid-market cruise line.

I was directing that towards a previous comment that a cruise is not an ordinary activity because it is expensive.

Well, let's see.  With two FL Senators, a FL Governor, and a FL-based ex-POTUS who can still serve one more term, all potentially running in 2024, it might make sense - by the odds - to put a dollar down on the next GOP Nominee being from FL.

Or a third party candidate.

"No shoes no shirt no service"

"This business reserves the right to refuse service to any one."

Private businesses have always had the right to require certain criteria from it's customers so vaccinations should be one of those should they chose it to be.

Also there is the question---do the cruise ship regulations come under the purview of the port authority not the Gov?

lots of progress needs to be made in the next 3 weeks, as then the 60 window opens to cruising by July 4th, 2021

will it happen ?

It's only happen if there's a vax mandate on board.

"Nearly 40% of Marines have so far declined to receive a vaccine to protect against the coronavirus"

https://ca.news.yahoo.com/nearly-40-marines-far-declined-143612069.html

That's the irreducible minimum. Likely to be a lot of other restrictions.

What if you are flying in for a cruise and stay a day or two before you board, how are they going to control where you have visited or stayed?

You definitely understand some of the problems with these restrictions. Many just don't make sense.

I have a question? We could debate this until the cows come home(my mom used to say) but what exactly are we debating? We don;'t really know what the cruise lines are going to do as far as restrictions except NCL saying they are requiring vaccines. So maybe we should just all give it a break and wait and see. There are way too many unknowns. Let the politicians, CLIA battle for us.

Sorry Kathy They met on Monday , https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/6037/

"On Monday, the CDC met with White House staff and cruise industry leaders..."

Sounds like the WH has asked its staffers to do fact finding. What's the CDC's riorities and timeline? What are the cruise industry's proposals and timeline.

The good thing is that the WH is taking notice. The problem is that none of the congressional leaders are involved. Poor optics.

What? You're asking for vaccines for your non-Americans crews on foreign flagged ships?

What? You're proposing to mix vax and non-vaccinated passengers?

What? You intend to ignore the CDC advise on non-essential travel?

That is really about the same thing as a FL resident in a way.  They could be doing anything up to cruise time.  (Using PE as an example).

Hey, graph person.... why don't you post one with Canada or at least Ontario over-laying the US and show how our cases per capita are higher than theirs now?

For Ontario, I'll let you explain why.

Anyway, your point is irrelevant. Canada has banned cruising till February 2022!

Which, it seems, is more to protect non-Canadians from being infected than anything else...

He only posts things where he can criticize the US.

That would require smiley to do some deep thinking rather than just throwing down a bunch of negative charts and graphs.

Ain't gonna happen. Great try though!
