Great! Wonderful even!

After all these years, it is long past time to reinvent some menus!

I enjoyed the special Brunches on sea days. As a traveler won’t personally skip a port day for any ship Brunch, but am sure the cruisers have a different view .

"Service levels have also been significantly enhanced through a combination of increased staffing and implementation of a new electronic ordering system which ensures that the taking of orders, food and beverage service and table re-setting is seamlessly streamlined. This will allow restaurant staff to focus on providing the exemplary service that guests have come to know and love."

Interesting.  I wonder how this will manifest itself.

Probably  a ipad  or like system so they do not have to run to the kitchen to hand in paper order forms  wasting time/energy

much like ordering  on an App to pick up at your local restaurant

Some lines already use this system

They had the electronic ordering system on our covid-shortened Riviera cruise last March. It was great. The order was taken on an iPad-like thing and immediately went to the kitchen. No paper!

Have not seen the special brunch done on port  days 🙄

The flyer calls them Sunday Brunch. So does that mean only on Sunday sea days or every Sunday. Before, they were always on sea days, but not necessarily on Sunday. Thus my comment.

Some cruises never had any. Time will tell.

Maybe it's just the way I'm reading it but it seems like they're inferring that Sunday Brunch is something that has always happened, but they're now making it better.

I cannot  see them having  Sunday Brunch on a port day  but maybe in some quiet port it could happen

JMO

"Sunday" Brunch could happen on a Wednesday for all some people know / care.

I recall HAL having the day of the week on a mat inside the elevators.

Very handy when you were in cruise mode and had lost track of which day it was.

I cannot recall the last time I had a Sunday brunch on an Oceania cruise, but it certainly was only on a sea day. Our last cruise (March 2019) the Grand Dining Room only was open for “regular” lunch on sea days.

Yes, the "Sunday Brunch" concept seems interesting.  But, in waiting to experience our first Oceania cruise in June 2022, will certainly be looking forward to experiencing everything described in this announcement!

I have just booked my first Oceania cruise aboard Nautica. As far as I can see, this ship has not been refurbished yet as part as the OceaniaNext program. Is this information correct? Is the ship still in good condition? I have read that the last dry dock was in 2014. Thanks.

We are on the Nautica in October and are disappointed that when we booked we were informed that it would be fully refurbished in June this year, when I asked recently was informed that it has been put back until 2023. It was one of the reasons that we booked this cruise so feel a little cheated. No doubt it will still be in reasonable condition but no refurbished staterooms and still a plastic showert curtain!!

Maybe  cancel & rebook  for 2023

No one really knows  the conditions on the ship  as she has not sailed with paying pax for over a year

Not sure why people are afraid of  a shower curtain 🙄

Perhaps, I will think about it, the last three days are in Turkey anyway and as this is red flagged at the moment and we are not allowed in, they might change things. Not afraid of the curtain after all it will be a five star curtain won't it! More bothered about the fleas and bed bugs - the last time we were on Sirena on deck seven the cabin was infested and we had to move!!

Now that would be something to worry about

Maybe they have died off by  now with no one to feed off  😄

My opinion, and it’s just that. We were on the Nautica for 20 days in August 2019. She was scheduled for her retrofit and needed it. It was only the small stuff though. Carpet worn in high traffic areas. Nicks and noticeable bangs on the furniture. For example, the carpet in our cabin , from the door into and around the bed was very noticeably worn. One could see it and feel it when they walked on it. Same could be said for very high traffic areas in the common areas.  She was scheduled for a redo, so no urgency or reason to spend money taking care of the little stuff. Just ride it out.

Would her condition keep me from sailing on her again until the retrofit. No! She was still fine and no worries. Mostly cosmetic.

A year, or so, ago there was a great CC article interviewing one of the line’s CEO. They talked about the massive amount of work required to bring a ship, anchored or docked at sea, out of cold storage once they’ve entered in. Think having an ocean front cabin locked up for a year with no attention. That’s a huge expense to make for a ship already in need of a complete make over.   Because of this, and her scheduled itinerary for the coming winter, I question whether/when she will sail again, and if before the retrofit.

Thanks for your answers. I am on the SIN BCN 40 days May, 10 to June 19, 2023. So I understand that the refurbishment will happen after my cruise. Any possibility it can be done before the ship resume operations later this year?

On the Princess forum there is a current thread titled Pacific Princess.

The 2nd post has pictures of the Azamara conversion of the casino into "The Den"

It looks really nice, and expands the table / sitting areas of Martinis to provide a larger and more open space.

I believe this is the 2nd Azamara ship with this feature.

When Oceania get around to the NEXT refurb of Nautica, it would be great if they would do something similar.
