No our Royal Up bids still say pending.  Guest services said we could

possibly not find out until tomorrow which I found weird

Well it’s officially a no for

us, and that is ok 🙂 F9730119-1F10-42C4-AE6F-0F7907B719D1.thumb.jpeg.5133653707cb88838787cfef3f69aff5.jpeg

If you can, I would suggest booking that right away. People on our cruise raved about it. But it was so booked up that the Diamond Lounge (now labeled Diamond Club) Concierge had a long waiting list of people that she was trying to help get booked. So we never got to book it.

We stopped Into the Seaplex and chatted with the guys working it. They suggested we book it ASAP And the earliest we could get was Day 4. We grabbed it and can’t wait to Try it!!

We also stopped into Playmakers for a visit and asked about what is covered on the dining package as we have it on the 8/28 cruise.  They said there was no maximum value and we could

order whatever we want. The Cruise planner says max $25.  I will confirm Next week!

Jessy - sorry you didn't get any of the upgrades - that is too bad.  Hope you are enjoying yourself on your 1st night.

Cheers,

Canuck

Thanks!  Honestly we are perfectly happy with the cabin we have. I would sleep in a broom closet at this point if it meant I could go on a real vacation!!

Lets talk about vaccines...

I am not trying to get into a political discussion.  I personally think everyone who can get them should get them, but to each his/her/their own.  I just wanted to share our experience.

We are fully vaccinated.  NewBrunswick/Canada did things a little differently than the US I believe.  We basically wanted to make sure that everyone in the general public got their first dose before letting them get their second.  They broke down the seniority by age/medical conditions/professions.  We both work from home, are only in our 40s and are healthy (knock on wood) so we were not eligible to get our first dose in mid-May.

Paul always said he wanted to get whatever the 1st vaccine available to us was.  I was not having that.  I wanted MRNA – no way did I want AstraZeneca, and was willing to wait for one if I had to. ...............

Not to swerve your trip reporting but in response to this ... Nova Scotia here and this sounds like me talking.  Pretty similar to approach here in NS and I was the same as you.. STUBBORN and set that I wanted MRNA and same dose and I also work from home so there was no risk to myself or others to wait the short extra time to follow the course to be able to do that, it wasn't that much longer.  Have both Pfizer and so totally happy that I went with my gut on my decision.

We weren't provided paper copies of any kind as a vaccination record but we have secure access to our own online vaccination 'record' that would be our only official documentation so it would have to suffice for use unless/until they come out with something else deemed more internationally/officially recognized?

Have a wonderful trip and it's awesome to see someone from the Atlantic Provinces sailing (again) and reporting!  I AM SO JEALOUS !!!!!

The new virtual Reality room in Seaplex is currently at no cost while they test it.  They will be charging for it at some point in the future.  Not sure when that will start or what the cost would be.

Do you reserve this on the app once you are boarded?

When we got to the spot where they scan your seapass card before entering the ship we had to show our Vax record again.  The person who was scanning us got a kick out of our weirdo form and handed it around to show the other workers.  It was pretty funny.

Here are some photos I took yesterday.

I have never seen Guest Services so dead today boarding!9901D746-E6E9-4FB8-877A-1C57F0C2B388.thumb.jpeg.62f311db82d061e0fe335f4cb81d2873.jpeg

Windjammer at lunch.  If the items were individually portioned, you could grab them yourself. Otherwise they served it for you.  I kind of liked it because it forced portion control.  Check out the size of that roast - I have never seen one that big before!!!

I am really liking the new Diamond drinks.  We did try to go into the lounge just after 5 to get some appetizers but it was full so could not get in.

These were our first drinks of the cruise - a Passion Spritz and a Lime & Coconut from the Lime & Coconut.  The Spritz was very good. I did not try the Lime & Coconut as I don’t like pina coladas so would not have liked it.  Paul said it was good.

Sandy Collins and a Champagne Cocktail from the Schooner Bar.

Here are the onboard prices for the drink package.  The deluxe package is 89.99 and they are still doing the BOGO 50% off.

I have  a soda package this cruise.  They are no longer delivering the cups to your room - you can pick them

up at any bar during the cruise.

They are not using Wow bands anymore. Guest services said it was to avoid confusion with the bracelets.  They are not using tracelets this cruise and our vaccine bracelets are green this week.  We met a couple who are on the last leg of a B2B2B and they had all 3 bracelets on. They were 3 different colours so they are alternating colours.

Great updates JC.  If possible could you see if they are allowing JS guests in the coastal kitchen for Dinner?  Dont go out of your way.  Thanks so much.  Dan

it's there now! thanks... it's weird. it wasn't in the app the last time i looked 🙂

Various things get populated in the app at various times as you approach sailing day. For any app item, you can look at the current sailing, don't need to wait till your sailing populates.
