Caribbean Princess currently Orange Status

Sailing Sunday, been watching the CDC color status and have seen mostly green, yellows on occasion, but just now it’s orange!

 

Any news from anyone on board ATM?

Well, according to the posted chart, orange (below the threshold for CDC investigation) is better than - or not as bad as - yellow (met the threshold for CDC investigation).

I feel bad for Royal Caribbean - 2 ships have reported cases - Tiny percentage of the population…

But have to admit I am glad Princess is not in the headlines like when Covid began!,

Right. Whoever came up with this color code doesn't remember mixing colors in school. It should go from green to yellow to orange to red. It doesn't make sense to go from green to orange to yellow to red.

Exactly!  But my Art teacher daughter said this is not meant to be a color wheel!  😂 

I think the yellow is the basic meaning of

yellow is…

The CDC has been hassling the cruise industry for a long time.  Why not advise "no flying, no resorts, no eating indoors, etc."

This is just continuance of the same advisory they have had in place since early 2020.  No change, just re-issuance of existing guidance/advice.

There is actually an ANSI standard which address this. The CDC got it wrong. This is why many folks often confuse the yellow/orange warning levels for the ships.

That bothered me too. It's a little thing, but it's wrong.
