Diamond Four Drinks Per Day

Question to the forum.

The wife and I will be Diamond after our upcoming cruise on Symphony in September.

My wife is a very light drinker. She's good with one glass of wine at dinner and that's not guarunteed. What becomes of her vouchers? Can I use them or do they just get wasted?

The vouchers are "use or lose" each day.   I usually take both cards down to my favorite bar at the end of the evening and find out how many vouchers are left on each card, then grab a couple of beers and/or waters to take back to the room.

It reads that “Diamond vouchers must be used in the Diamond Lounge”. How else can that be interpreted?

It means if you get a drink in the lounge you must use a voucher.  That’s one way to interpret it.

On it's own that's a factual statement.

But it doesn't say only

You can use them by handing the bartender her card.

Thanks so much 🙂

This may be completely against the rules but if my wife was allowed to purchase the refreshment package and i had the deluxe would i be able to gift her my 4 drinks per day?

Quite a few times during our cruise I cheerfully fetched a drink for the Mrs. using one of my Diamond freebies.  That's how you properly gift the drinks 🥰

We just got back from B2B on Allure and the diamond drinks were easy. They are available all day and all we had to do was tell the bar tender to use our diamond voucher. We would order at the pool bar and they would put two drinks on one card, they never asked to get both cards. We used our vouchers in the theater and Bow & Stern. The only issue I had was in the casino. Once I asked to use my voucher and they rang it up on my room, another drink I asked for at 10 to midnight and it took the drink off the next days voucher. These were very minor things, all the bars were great with fast service and friendly bar keeps.

My last few cruises I have bought the drinks package but definitely not this time around - it’s way too expensive IMO.

I will definitely use all of the vouchers and buy wine for dinner and maybe a beer or cocktail during the day but couldn’t drink my way through the package now.

Safe cruising everyone

I too am a very light drinker.  If I have two drinks a day that's alot for me.  My husband may get three at most if he is feeing particularly festive, so we never hit our 4 voucher limit. When we travel with underage grandkids we use our extra drink vouchers to get a soft drinks for them..

I am Elite Plus with Celebrity. Do I get 4 vouchers ? What other perks would I receive.

Check out RC website for a list of benefits for diamond along with your 4 drinks loaded on each of your SeaPass cards daily.  Like with Celebrity, you will receive in your stateroom a welcome aboard letter from the LA detailing all your onboard perks/benefits and a welcome back letter from the DLC.

We have a 14 day repositioning cruise in October and will not purchase the DDP.  I cannot justify $2400 just for booze.  It's just short of what we paid for our cruise.  This will be our first cruise in a long time without a drink package.  We typically hit the bars hard the first few days then cut back significantly.  Some days having 0-2 drinks a day.  I'll take advantage of our Diamond perk of 4 freebees a day and pay anything above and beyond.

Now I’m curious…say you use all your voucher drinks during the day and want to visit diamond lounge with friends. You can’t choose to pay for a drink?

Folks here report getting unvouchered drinks all the time. I'm certain I've had several. Not because I asked, per se, just lost track

I have also received free drinks and I didn’t ask either. Not sure how it happens but it seems to happen more in MDR or Coastal Kitchen with the waiter than in bars. I think for some reason they forget to swipe the card or there is an issue with the machine. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s also not a real common thing for us, but every once in awhile. This has been since the restart.

You can use a voucher in any BAR.  In most Diamond Lounges, there is no BAR.  They don't have the charging machine.  They are getting the drinks from an outside bar.  That is what you will have to do.  🙂

The thing is they may get the drink with no RECEIPT, but it was probably rung up at the register with the cabin number the staff ask about.  They may have assumed this meant unvouchered.

Many bar staff, once they know you are vouchered will ring up the drink with no card/no receipt.  Their system does the rest to keep track of the alcohol used and the number of vouchers left.

Other C&A members' MMV.......

Almost never get a receipt. I do however occasionally hear that I am out of vouchers, but don't worry about it.

Plus, I'm on my phone a lot and often check my account. Now some charges take a while to post, but some never post.

And as of now, I have never been vouchered for a drink at Oasis pool on CocoCay

Combination of that and a charming personality 😇

I've mentioned this before. Half the time CocoCay I ask for a receiot to sign because I may not have cash in the pool.

Those charges always show up, but not the actual drink. Weird.

Well, it's obvious you need to work on the charming part if you're not getting your drink!

I often get virgin frozen drinks with my vouchers, and I have had numerous bartenders at different bars on different ships who never bothered to charge them to my D/D+ vouchers.  I tip a dollar for each drink, and after a couple times at the same bar with the same server, they just didn't bother to run it through.  I'm guessing that it was a combination of the fact that it was a non-alcoholic drink plus the fact that I always had dollar bills with me.

And no, they didn't just remember my room number and process it from memory -- the $0.00 charge never showed up on my account, which means they didn't charge it against one of my vouchers.

Interesting.  Mine always show up the next day.  I keep just enough cash for the 6 drink vouchers, so when I run out of tip money throughout the day, it's time to stop!!

I use them during the day for the little bottles of Pellegrino, and then for alcoholic drinks in the evening.

I rarely get a receipt. I tip in cash and check my acct on the app to see how many are left. That’s how I tell if they were all rung up or not.

99.99% of the time the drinks at the Oasis pool count against my vouchers. I think maybe once or twice before they didn’t count it.

So how do the vouchers work if you are staying in a suite? Do the drinks in the suite lounge count against your vouchers or are they included with your suite then you get 4 more for Diamond?

If you get free drinks in the suite lounge, why would they be charged to your Diamond vouchers at all in the suite lounge????
