Am I Correct???  At Diamond you get 4 complementary

drinks daily loaded automatically to your sea pass.

Question: How is it decided when the drink benefit is used.

There’s a big difference in cost between getting 4 alcoholic drinks

or some fresh squeezed orange juice and bottled water.

You tell them. Probably more important to tell them when you don't want a voucher used than when you do, as I think many bartenders will typically use one if it's available.

Yes 4 drinks a day.  Just let the server know if you don't want to use a voucher.

I always tell them to use the voucher or not use it. I discovered on CocoCay that although it is possible to use the vouchers there is paperwork involved and not all of the bartenders know how to do it so don't assume that they will use a voucher automatically.

I never drink non-alcoholic beverages on the ship so that helps avoid the confusion 😁. Seriously though, I don't drink soda or fresh squeezed O.J. or anything else that has a charge. I drink water, lemonade, coffee etc. These are all free. If I'm ordering a beverage that costs money, it'll have alcohol in it.

Usually, if it’s anything other than an alcoholic drink, they’ll ask if you want to use a voucher.

I always specify when I order whether to use a voucher or not especially at the beginning of a cruise when the bartenders don't know me yet. I don't like surprises that then have to be fixed.

Another diamond question - sorry to hijack.

 

We all become diamond on our next cruise.  I always get my kids the refreshment package because the love the virgin drinks.  Is it correct they'll also get 4 vouchers that can be used to towards shakes/virgin drinks?

If you become Diamond on a cruise, you don't get the benefits until the following cruise.

Yes. My young nieces love using their vouchers on virgin daiquiris.

Now that we just turned D+ and given that my wife barely drinks, I've challenged myself to work on this, lol. Even at D I usually had a couple sodas and Trulys in the fridge from leftover vouchers. I don't mind using a few this way but I vow to make better use of them.
