Is Celebrity getting a lot more expensive?
Cruise a holic replied to slanik's topic in Celebrity Cruises
IMO a game. We booked a sky suite about 1 year ago- paid so much less then with the Sale now. They play games by significantly increasing prices, then giving you a discount off of the inflated price. IMO best to book early at least one year in advance then if you want to bid on Move up at the last minute do it. -
Icon of the Seas Blocks Are In The House!
Cruise a holic replied to Lloyd555's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Very exciting. We are booked for winter of 2024! -
We always had our butler empty the cooler and we put in our own water and soft drinks from the retreat lounge. Note that the "refrigerator" isn't a refrigerator- it is a cooler perhaps in the penthouse a true fridge depending upon the ship. If you have medication that needs true refrigeration, tell your butler or room attendant..

Was this breakfast from luminae? Didn't know the retreat serves breakfast? Just though a limited menu lunch.

Thank you for sharing! We will be on the Apex for New Years and be doing a b/2/b. We have sailed on the Edge, but have heard that the suite lounge and deck are much better on the Apex. Looking foward to our cruise in less then three weeks. I am already getting my cruise clothes packed! We like to be ready a few days before as in the Northeast snow happens! Want to be ready to leave asap in the event of a pending snow storm. Do not want to miss our cruise!

First time for AquaClass - Question about Blue
Cruise a holic replied to NCteacherlovescruising's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Blu doesn't require reservations. Typically a long line begins around opending time. So if you like to dine early and want a good table, you must line up. It gets empty around 7;30 - 8:00 for the late diners. Tables for two are lined up next to each other in rows by the windows- not really private. We typically had the first table for two next to a window. The same most days- We tried to be the first on line. -
We always take the photo package- very worthwhile. We take boarding pics, port pics and everyday they have multiple photo stations with various backgrounds around the ship. They also take around the ship candid photos and photos in restaurants. They send you a code to use to retrieve your photos when you arrive home. You can make albums or copies at home- no heavy load of pics to bring home. Also great if you sail with family. However the people/person in the booked cabin must be in the photo along with friends or relatives. enjoy your cruise and your memories of the cruise.

Just off the Summit on 12-3 and it was a great cruise
Cruise a holic replied to misguy's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We enjoyed sailing on the Summit a few years ago. Did it multiple times from New Jersey. Was our August no fly cruise for years. However the ship moved and didn't sail the dates we wanted any longer. Was a great ship- nice service and food. Liked the Suite lounge and amenities. Haven't sailed on her in years. Enjoy your cruise. Haven't been on her since the renovations. -
We actually got notification when we were on the ship with a couple of move ups. So who knows when you will be notified. When we were notified prior to the cruise, it was good news- once boarded- not. Good luck.

Honestly with over 50 cruises under our belt, we know as much or even more then the TA. I hear other people get onboard credits, free spec. dinners, and at least a bottle of champagne. Ours gave nothing on our past two RC cruises, one in a Crown Loft Suite. . We are even doing a b/2/b in a sky suite, hope she gives us some perks. I assume she is making a healthy commission for us transferring our booked on board sailing to her.

Which "NEW" Cruise Fare Package Do You Prefer?
Cruise a holic replied to Jeter02's topic in Princess Cruises
We always prefer the best package that is all inclusive. Easier to use and no "surprises" at the end of the cruise. We sail mostly on Celebrity and take the all included options. -
Discounted Specialty Dining Packages?
Cruise a holic replied to Runaways's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We always prebook. You can cancel and rebook if the price changes. Best to book now to secure the rate . Enjoy. -
Great news! Enjoy the sky suite and especially Luminae and all of the suite perks! Hope you are as successful for the second leg of your cruise as you will be spoiled.

If you "share" the cabin with your mom, and register her in "your" cabin, she can actually sleep in the other cabin, , you can all enjoy the Elite perks.

Let’s talk about Allure’s Suite Sun Deck
Cruise a holic replied to Doc2725's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes, none of Oasis either- the Harmony has one! But the suite decks are so much better! However, IMO they cannot beat the Celebrity Edge series Suite Decks. -
Perhaps you can consider a handicapped window cabin so you can reserve your spot then watch to see if a balcony becomes available. Some people cancel their cruise before final payment is due.

Let’s talk about Allure’s Suite Sun Deck
Cruise a holic replied to Doc2725's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We enjoy the suite deck on the Allure. The bar is "usually" great. We had have had wonderful bartenders on the ship and some not so wonderful. We enjoy the shaded areas also and a dip in the hot tub. Enjoy your cruise. -
Are soda packages worth the cost?
Cruise a holic replied to Tntt's topic in Royal Caribbean International
If not interested in alcohol, we book the non-alcoholic beverage package. We get special coffee's, water and non-alcoholic drinks. We enjoy the frozen types of drinks on a hot afternoon. We also take spec water and cans of soda to our stateroom or on a shore X. IMO worth it. We do not drink the machine offerings. We wouldn't carry soda or bottled water on board. -
Canceling an excursion onboard

Why not cancel now? Just be sure that is what you want to do. -
Le Petit Chef - Worth giving up a Luminae night for?
Cruise a holic replied to schmenge's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Absolutely yes. We sail in suites on Celebrity. We typically take at least a three night specialty dining package. While Luminae is fine- the menu isn't great IMO. The specialty dining is much better. We enjoy breakfast in luminae, and some lunches- but if you are on a cruise more then 5 nights- I would book a few specialty restaurants. We enjoy Le Petit Chef. If you do not like the menu, they have alternate food- but it is a nice experience. Enjoy.
