Adoptionmsw Posted November 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2017 I jumped on this today. The price was right and the prepaid gratuities really add up on a 21 day cruise. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
ger_77 Posted November 22, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 22, 2017 I just checked ours and without the Cyber sale we are still paying $1400 less per couple; that more than covers the pre-paid gratuities and beverage card. I guess it pays to book ahead! Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

DaveOKC Posted November 22, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted November 22, 2017 On my March 7 day cruise I would save $210 in grats plus $50 in beverage cards. But I would lose $200 in OBC plus fare would be $200 more, so no savings for me.
Lizzie68 Posted November 23, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 23, 2017 For our cruise next April, which we booked ages ago, we saved $1200 CDN per cabin on the fare and kept our OBC, the prepaid gratuities and beverage cards. Nice.
Florida_gal_50 Posted November 23, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 23, 2017 I just checked a cruise I am thinking about. It's $1000 less with my mariner pricing then with the "sale". No deal for me.
bz Posted November 23, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 23, 2017 Just checked, no deal for us. Balcony is $1400 more. sometimes pays to book early.
AnnieBelle Posted November 23, 2017 #10 Share Posted November 23, 2017 I had my TA check into this and our original deal was better than this sale. Always good to check though!
Hflors Posted November 23, 2017 #11 Share Posted November 23, 2017 Checked my cruise and we are able to get this. Prepaid gratuities add up when your cruise is 27 days. The rep I spoke with said to keep an eye out in Jan or Feb for a price decrease. Since our cruise is in 2019 I will be keeping an eye out!!! sapper1 Posted November 23, 2017 #12 Share Posted November 23, 2017 We have been booked on our upcoming April cruise for a long time and already had the prepaid gratuities and 25 dollar beverage cards as a perk. Our TA checked yesterday and was able to get us a $1040 price reduction where we kept the previous perks and received another $50 beverage card plus a Pinnacle/Canaletto dine around. I think the big price difference may be due to the fact that we booked in Canadian funds back when the exchange rate was rather high. The Loonie has improved considerably against the US dollar since we booked and we received the benefit of that. Just a guess.

I don't believe the exchange rate was the reason, it may have been a price drop due to E4 ending. I booked in Jan/17 for a Sep/18 cruise. At the time I got early booking perks. Dropped those in favour of the Advantage Fare, with no perks, a month or so ago. Yesterday, I added the Cyber Sale, with no change in fare, and regained the perks that were important to us from the original early booking perks. My TA confirmed last week that the exchange rate had decreased our fare. She checked with HAL, who confirmed but said we would lose our perks of prepaid grats etc, to refare, so a couple of days later she refared under the cyber sale which included the perks. Whatever the reason, it was to my benefit.;)

DaveOKC Posted November 23, 2017 Author #21 Share Posted November 23, 2017 Got a good price drop but lost all perks, sig beverage and pinnacle. You just have to figure out which is the better deal for you. For some the beverage package is worth more than it is for others. FYI - when you book with a large perk package, you can often get a lower price quote without the perks (at booking time).
CJcruzer Posted November 23, 2017 #22 Share Posted November 23, 2017 I have 2 cruises booked, looking and keeping eye out on third. First one booked for summer 2018 is non refundable deposit, which cannot be changed (would be considered a cancellation) However, the price is $1400 cheaper through non refundable deposit, even though I cannot get the prepaid gratuities/bev card through Cyber Sale (14 day cruise). I am further ahead with this non refundable fare Second cruise, TA is checking, I have found the cruise went up $100 for 2 people, but would get 20 day prepaid gratuities and bev. card. Will probably re-fare with cyber sale. Third cruise is something I have kept my eye on - and it is still same price as I Was quoted (without Explore 4) but now would be eligible at same pricing for prepaid gratuities and beverage card. I have a hold, and will probably book it. so far my experience with this year's cyber sale. Last year, I re-fared my Cyber Sale into a much better deal when I received a private Mariner sailing - the benefit of that outweighed the prepaid gratuities and bev card by far. The only cruise I cannot re-fare is the first non refundable deposit fare - however it was such an amazing saving that I doubt any promotion could do better. Rare Lady Arwen Posted November 23, 2017 #24 Share Posted November 23, 2017 A few days ago I checked out a Prinsendam cruise for 2019 which was expensive, but worth keeping an eye on. Today our price (Canadian) with our casino discount, free gratuities and bev card is $930.00 LESS PER PERSON. Grabbed it! Booked it online because the office is closed for the holiday, but I'll call tomorrow to follow up with some questions. Thanks, HAL, this sale really worked out for us!
