MIAMI, July 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Once again, Celebrity Cruises is set to transform the industry with the unveiling of THE CELEBRITY REVOLUTION, a more than $500-million reimagining of the fleet in partnership with more than 500 leading architects, designers, and engineers designed to bring the rest of the brand's award-winning fleet to the Edge.

Celebrity_Cruises.jpg

"We launched THE CELEBRITY REVOLUTION to do one thing – transform the way our guests experience the world. It began with the introduction of the industry-changing Celebrity Edge, and continued with the stunning Celebrity Flora," said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO, Celebrity Cruises. "Our dedication to improving the way guests experience the world knows no bounds. We are taking our entire award-winning fleet to the edge and giving people the vacation they truly deserve."

THE SUITE LIFE JUST GOT SWEETER

Transforming the brand's award-winning ships gave Celebrity the opportunity to bring its already world-class suite experience on board Celebrity Millennium, Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Infinity, and Celebrity Summit to lavish new heights with the help of visionary designer Kelly Hoppen, MBE. She will also infuse the newly added Reflection Suite and Signature Suites (found today on Celebrity Reflection) to Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Equinox, and Celebrity Silhouette, with her signature style – a subtle, coordinated fusion of East meets West, with clean lines, neutral tones, and a warm, inviting opulence.

"This was a new and exciting challenge to recreate something stylish and luxurious yet totally different from the accommodations that I have designed for Celebrity Edge," said Hoppen. "I wanted to invoke a feeling of timeless luxury that welcomed guests into their own haven. Your bedroom is where you sleep and where you wake, two of the most important times of day, especially when you are on vacation. It was important to create space, harmony and luxury within a home away from home setting and I think we achieved this balance perfectly."

With Celebrity Edge, the brand introduced an exclusive new sanctuary for all Suite Class guests called The Retreat. And now, Celebrity is bringing its most luxurious experiences fleet-wide. Every ship will offer The Retreat Sundeck and The Retreat Lounge, both strikingly designed by Hoppen. In imagining The Retreat Sundeck, she has created a chic, open-air hideaway with the feel of a high-end resort, where guests can unwind on plush loungers, sip tantalizing cocktails, and savor refreshing treats. At The Retreat Lounge (formerly Michael's Club), Hoppen has designed a warm and sophisticated atmosphere.

"REVOLUTIONARY" ACCOMMODATIONS

When redesigning the accommodations, every detail was carefully thought through with guest comfort at the front of mind. Celebrity collaborated with renowned international hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) to transform the staterooms on board Celebrity Millennium, Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Infinity, and Celebrity Summit, plus the staterooms and many of the suites on board Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Reflection into a statement about modern luxury.

"Every detail of our staterooms has been elevated, every comfort refined," said Brian Abel, Senior Vice President, Hotel Operations, Celebrity Cruises. "By the end of THE CELEBRITY REVOLUTION the entire fleet will have the same quality, design essence, and consistency of modern luxury, bringing our fleet to the edge."

All staterooms will feature a fresh, chic design, rivaling the world's best boutique hotels. They will also be fitted with Celebrity's eXhale bedding featuring exclusive luxurious cashmere mattresses, RFID locks, pervasive Xcelerate and Bluetooth capabilities.

"REVOLUTIONARY" CULINARY

Celebrity is always looking for new ways to open the world, not only through the places the brand visits, but through globally inspired culinary experience, as well.

Guest-favorite restaurant Qsine will be added across the fleet and completely renovated, now offering the brand's virtual Le Petit Chef experience, created by the world-famous artists of Skullmapping and presented by TableMation exclusively for Celebrity. Oceanview Café will be redesigned with an open, airy, marketplace-inspired design offering guests island after island of international delicacies, while the already-stunning Main Restaurants will undergo a beautiful redesign, with new textures and new finishes added throughout.

EVERY DETAIL IS BEING TAKEN TO THE EDGE

Even more groundbreaking innovations are on the horizon with THE CELEBRITY REVOLUTION, including:

  • Expansion of the new SEA Thermal Suite – first introduced on Celebrity Edge – to offer an ahh-inspiring array of therapeutic spa experiences at sea
  • Exclusive new shopping experiences featuring sought-after brands and designers, such as Shinola, John Hardy, and Hublot, plus state-of-the-art digital photo galleries that make browsing vacation memories a snap
  • Elevated bars and lounges, including the newly reimagined Passport Bar and an expansion of Celebrity's popular Gastrobar concept, serving more than 40 craft beers, creative cocktails, and gourmet comfort food
  • More exciting upgrades to public venues all throughout each ship, including The Hideaway, Team Earth, The Library, and more

The first "revolutionary" revitalization will take place in 2019, beginning with the iconic Celebrity Millennium, and will continue across the fleet through 2023. To learn more about THE CELEBRITY REVOLUTION, visit www.celebritycruises.com/revolution.

What this means on the S Class is less public space and more passengers. If they follow the deck plan of the Reflection the Sky Lounge will be cut in half and the Signature Suites and Reflection Suite will be in the space that was formally Sky Lounge.

Celebrity appears to believe that their financial future will continue to be based on attracting high margin passengers who are willing to pay the price. Might be the time to some, including me, to begin to explore other lines.

I'm still curious if the Suite Retreat will feature a pool. I know on the edge it will, but they haven't come out and said it exactly for the Revolution on existing ships. Renderings do show a pool; however, until someone comes out and exactly says so, I'm skeptical at this point.

Agree, believe the sky lounge will be a thing of the past.

It does leave lots of questions unanswered....We have a cruise booked 2020 on Silhouette post upgrade, we are presently considering another cruise on Equinox post upgrade....before committing $xxxx it would be nice to know exactly what we are getting....

Well it's what happened to the M Class when they Solsticized them. They ruined those ships and the wonderful lounge on Deck 11 forward not to mention other places on the ship.

They also took public space on deck 11 and converted it to AQ1 cabins. Also added OV cabins on deck 3.

Real estate = Revenue

This article indicates that there will be a pool and spa tub but none of the artist renderings show the pool.

There really isn’t a place for a pool on that Solstice Deck at the front of the ship. I think they would have to make the Retreat two levels and put the pool where the basketball court is now. Then that level could connect in to the Retreat Lounge which would likely replace the Kid and Teen areas. One deck below that we know that half the Sky Lounge and the Conference Center will go to make room for the new suites. Then it’s just a question if the other half of the Sky Lounge stays or gets transformed possibly into a new location for Luminae so all the Suite areas are near each other like on Edge. If that happens then that means both the current Luminae space and the current Michael’s Club space will be open for new venues for all guests. Maybe the new steakhouse and Le Grand Bistro concepts will move over from Edge into those spots? Having Le Grand Bistro side by side with Murano would make perfect sense.

And obviously I am talking about S class ships. M class will have a different set up.

Agree with the Bees, look at their actions since she took over and look at the Press Releases

the press release above? yeah, don't get that at all, sorry. What I do get is a few people that don't like her and won't like anything Celebrity does under her.

I said press releases, plural.

I get that she doesn't want to run a Sr.'s cruise line. That's been coming since Michael Bailey, probably before that when Dan Hanrahan started allowing Jeans in the dining rooms. But some of the blatant derogatory and sexist comments that are posted about her over and over on this forum are out of line.

If you'd like my take on a particular press release then post it, I'm not about to go hunting for them.

LLP does not want long time cruises who no longer spend money on photos or purchase mdse in the overpriced shops on board. She appears to want the torn jean crowd, the socially diverse and those with a cause. All you have to do is read her various comments. Might be time to exit.

Wow. I just tuned into this thread and found your rather sweeping statement. Who, exactly, are:

The torn jean crowd?

The socially diverse?

Those with a cause?

And, why do you despise them?

I’m with you Chemmo! I’m not necessarily averse to changes, but I would like to know what I’m getting when I commit our holiday funds. Though here I am, booked on the Edge;p

I have one booked on Silhouette. After that, I'll be shopping for something on HAL or Princess. Maybe I'll find something great or maybe I'll realize Celebrity is the best. Only one way to find out.

I'm guessing the Solariums will be going bye-bye to make way for the new Suite Experience.

Why? there's been no mention of touching them nor anything I can see that would replace them. All the drawings show the suite retreat pool area to be at the front of the ship up top.

Oh no! Just when I finally reached Elite;p Will I never make it the Elite cocktail hour?

Probably not as after the Revolution, I reckon it will revert to the vouchers per night ;).

That top right picture looks awfully like one of the examples that I was asked to rate a few weeks ago on a questionnaire from X. The question was something along the lines as to choose one photograph out of the four shown (4 different rooms - traditional, classic, ultra modern & the beige one above) which I thought represented ‘luxury’. Ironically, I didn’t choose that picture. It may have been a coincidence - who knows?

There are many cruise lines.....so if Celebrity makes changes that we don't appreciate, we'll just move to Celebrity's competitors. We certainly aren't Lisa's target audience though.....to date, Celebrity has shown that they are unable to attract their target audience.....average age on longer cruises still hovers well above 60. We have little interest in fancier/more expensive cabins/suites on Celebrity....for that money we'll gladly move to another cruise line.

We vote with our money.....as everyone else will do.

You can be certain if new ideas work on Celebrity other lines in the same category will be close behind.

I’d say the opposite: X is following the others - MSC, NCL, Royal etc. Many of them are already offering the ship within a ship concept and X are following behind.
