First activities when you board?

We will be boarding the Breeze next Sunday. We have FTTF and an arrival time of 10:00 - 10:30am. Haven't been on a Carnival ship since 1986 and hear things are a little different now. So..... looking for advice on what to do on that first day. Lunch and/or dinner advice for first night would also be much appreciated.

I'm Diamond, so I like to get unpacked and maybe showered before heading up for some BBQ lunch. While the Lido and Guy's begin to get packed, the BBQ joint seems less crowded that first day. After lunch we just relax until muster, which is my signal that the cruise has actually begun.

How much does FTTF cost extra, and when to you purchase that? At booking or later? I think I’d like to try that so I can go to cabin right away and leave my carry on.

Price depends on cruise duration.

I'm Diamond, but still stop at the lobby bar for a Bloody Mary before going to my cabin. Then I go have lunch at Cucina, then go to the casino to set up my players bank.

Then I usually go back down to the lobby bar to people watch.

I board the ship in clothes that are appropriate to wear to dinner and I don't unpack until late at night or the next morning.

We try to beat the crowds for Blue Iguana tacos for myself and Guy's burger for husband. Next stop cocktail from Lido bars. 3rd stop find a quiet spot on deck to get away from the crowd, relax, and watch the scenery on sail away until the (dreaded!) muster drill.

On what ship is the BBQ open the first day?

Guy's Pig and Anchor BBQ is open limited hours during the cruise, and embarkation day lunch is one of those open times. Since it's off the Lido beaten path and open limited times during your cruise, that would be a great option for your embarkation day lunch since it will likely be less crowded. With FTTF your cabin should be available to you upon embarkation, so you should be able to drop off your carry-ons upon embarkation and then head to Guy's next.

Enjoy your cruise!

Since you have FTTF please remember to have the porters put the orange FTTF luggage tag on your checked baggage if you want to get it earlier, otherwise you will get it at the same time as the rest of the passengers.

Thank you for the reminder! I remember reading this a while back but have forgotten.

Since I am platinum I will go to my cabin first to drop off carry ons. My second stop is guest services to find out about muster drill for person with disabilities. My third stop is to find out where my table is in the main dining room early seating. Then lunch and drinkies. Might grab a drink on way to room.

This will be our first cruise with just my wife and I - mainly travel with family for cruises. That being said, we now know we don't have to wait in a corner until all of the family have boarded.

We will do the same ole thing - FTTF drop off luggage and soda cases. Head up to the Lido for lunch and then a high perch to enjoy the view before muster. After muster, get in a dance or two as we sail away and continue to get the lay of the land until MDR dinner.

You get a free bottle of red or white wine if you dine in the Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse on the first night of the cruise! You can also skip the lido buffet and dine at the Italian restaurant at the make your own pasta bar. In the evening it’s reservation only and for an extra fee. We didn’t love dinner there but lunch was decent. The spa is pretty cool so maybe check out the spa tour. I would also recommend the Behind the Fun Tour. You would need to go to guest services to reserve your spot as soon as you board. They only allow so many. It is pricey but worth it!
