Although I don't "know" you, I have enjoyed traveling with you through your live posts. You make it very exciting and interesting! I am curious-how many cruises do you sail on in a year? I envy your multiple cruising thru the years and love to follow you on CC.

Again, thanks for sharing your cruises.

It’s Wednesday and we’ve just arrived into St. Maarten. Weather has warmed up and winds have subsided considerably. Up until now we could not sit outside; too cool and way too windy. In port with us is the monster Oasis and Celebrity Eclipse. I can see a Carnival smokestack and another smaller ship, though both are blocked by the biggie.

Our M & G was not too well attended, but the person we were most interested in seeing did turn up. Yes, our wonderful Capt. McCharming; Tony Yeomans. He is the best. Those who had never met him were in total agreement. If you’re reading this Captain; thanks. (Yes folks, he has mentioned many times that he does read Cruise Critic).

We subjected ourselves to the comedian again last night; not any better than the previous night. Took a few pennies from the casino and went back to the cabin to watch People Like Us. Early to bed. And Mr. Sandman blessed me again with a full night of sleep. He, and Ambien work well. :)

BTW, this is the LIVE I said I wasn’t doing, so, over and out for now.

P.S. To whomever asked: we did 9 cruises in 2012. Three were B2B's. Total days: 104

Thanks again for the good wishes. With all that I should be fit as a fiddle in no time. Yes, I did go to the gym again this morning. Just a little at a time.

9 cruises....how wonderful! You have so much more experience cruising then most of us....that is why I love reading your opinions and live posts. We hope to do a B2B next Jan and would love info on the best way to book etc -1- 14 day vs 2 -7 day etc and any other info you would be able to pass along!

Glad to see you are feeling more perky each day. Thanks for the live posts.

Pia, being one that doesn't like taking medicine I have found a sure way to ease pain or difficulty in getting to sleep. Suggest you give it a try:

Turn down all the lights; close your eyes and have your Mike sing the following:

Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur;

Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr purr purr! :)

Seriously, it works!! :D

LMAO! SOMEONE is a Big Bang fan! :D

PIA! You take good care of yourself and enjoy this much needed relaxing vacation!

.

Good Thursday morning and we are docked in St. Thomas. Crown Bay, not the preferred Havensight. It was very hot yesterday in St. Maarten, but doubt the temp will get that high today. It’s a bit overcast out there and in fact we had a major downpour about an hour ago. Sun seems to want to come out, but no matter to us because we’re not getting off at all.

Yesterday, after spending 9 minutes on the treadmill (did .31; hooray for me. Not going to push it) we had breakfast in HC and then decided to walk off the ship. Didn’t get too far before we hailed a small port tram which took us to the shopping area. Best bang for a buck. Meandered around for a bit, bought Diet Pepsi and then back to ship for lunch in the IC. Spent a few hours in the shade near the Calypso pool; relaxed while reading and snoozing. Good afternoon. Did nothing after dinner except take a few more pennies from the casino and again early to bed.

No plans for today. We sail at 3:30. Tonight is the CC party at 5:15. We have lots of guests; hope one of them wins the champagne raffle. Entertainment is production show Stardust, a comedic pianist David Moore and assorted games such as Majority Rules and TV trivia.

Have tried to post this several times. Cruise Critic is giving me aggravation. See ya.

love it!!!

Pia,

Hope you are feeling better, and sounds like you are getting around better than you originally thought with .31miles in 9 mins! I think that is better than my fat butt can do!! haha

Sorry to hear about your surgery. It seems that the Ruby is the ship to recover on and can't think of a better ship and itinerary. Thanks for sharing your books. Glad you are not overdoing it as it is easy to do.

I agree, recovery is best on a Princess ship.

Congrats on being #2! Thank you for trying to take time to post.

Maybe we will run into you before we board our ship at the end of the month.

Speedy recovery to you! Seadeck2

Hello from the beautiful Ruby Princess as we start our 7 day New Years cruise into Caribbean waters. The title I have used for this thread is a bit cryptic, so let me explain. My usual LIVE will not be happening and for those who follow me the explanation is simple. On the 12th of this month I had major thoracic surgery and I’m just grateful to have been able to board today. My stamina is such that I tire quickly, so this cruise will be total R & R. We most likely will do zero ports. I will drop in whenever I can and hopefully my friends Tina and Joyce and other new roll call friends will continue giving info and chatter.

Hi Pia!

Just thought to look for your LIVE today and was shocked to read that you are running on "relax" for the time being. Brian and I send you and Mike our best wishes, love and hugs!

denise

ps - say hello to Joyce for me!

Here I am again with last night’s Captain Circle party statistics. CC Passengers as follows:

Gold 847

Platinum 409

Elite 121

Blue cards are in abundance.

You already know we were 2nd , so third has 604 days, while #1 has 1036. Took our champagne to dinner and guzzled it all.

And a good Friday morning to you all. We gained an hour of sleep last night; back to EST. We are currently at sea; expected arrival into Grand Turk is at 1:00 PM and will stay until 7:00. I would like to get off, but will not decide until we actually arrive. Had a good night; lots of sleep.

Yesterday was not a good day; hope today is better. For some reason that escapes me, a whole lot of uncontrolled pain decided to invade my body. No gym yesterday. Couldn’t even think of it. Guess I need to take the bad with the good.

Much better at night, but went back to cabin right after dinner and watched a Morgan Freeman movie (2nd time) The Magic of Belle Isle. Tonight’s entertainment is comic Gary Delena, magician David Cats and the movie Premium Rush on MUTS.

I know I’m jabbering, so will cut out.

Marcia: As you can see we were silent because of extenuating circumstances. We are ready to do Tuesday night hamburgers when we get home.

Denise: thanks. talk to you soon

Just popping in with some info which interests many CC folks.

The Capt. Circle party will be on Thursday; formal night. We are #2. Have no idea yet how many days numero uno has, but I believe it’s over 1000.

Both wine tasting and Most Traveled Luncheon will be on Saturday. Cutoff is 286.

There are a zillion kids on this cruise; 250 teens and many more than that of littler ones. And lots and lots of babies.

Comedian Glenn Hirsch is on again tonight; this time in the theater. Explorers has a female vocalist; Melissa Wand.

Almost time for M & G. See you tomorrow in St. Maarten.

Hi Pia,

I just got off the Star in Buenas Aires and I have free Internet so I had to find you and read your thread. Congrats on being number two. I would have more the most traveled luncheon with my 287! Hope you had a great cruise -and are recovering quickly. Miss you, talk to you next week when we get back to the states.

Much love, Amelia and Ken
