Princess equivalent of Carnival Ship on a Stick?

I've amassed a fleet of Carnival SOAS, and wondered what silly or not so silly prizes Princess awards at trivia and other games?

We've won, in addition to the '24 karat gold plated plastic piece of ship on a stick'... medallians, playing cards, tshirts, beach bags, frisbees, mugs, tumblers, rum cakes, wine/turpentine, candy, and more, depending on what the entertainment staff digs up.

Just wondered what the standard award is. My sister and I are just a teeny bit competitive.

Yes, don't forget the champagne!

Our family of 4 (all adults) won two bottles of champagne on the final night of trivia on our cruise last December. We were all flying to the four corners of the U.S. after the cruise and couldn't take it with us. So, our waiter exchanged them for two chilled bottles at dinner and, yes, we polished them off!

Princess does not have the flair that Carnival puts into their 24 caret gold plastic ship on a stick. Their prizes as you can see are more mundane. Also they don't have the endless trivia and other games all day long. On our last Carnival cruise we got burned out on the back to back trivia games.

In addition to the "fabulous" prizes listed above don't forget the "wonderful" champagne!

Shudder! That stuff was just awful. On our 14 day Alaska cruise two years ago, our party "won" 7 bottles over the course of the cruise. The first bottle we opened we didn't finish. Then, the second bottle we tried mixing with some fruit juice, and it was okay. We ended up getting the CD's staff to exchange the other bottles for other giveaway stuff.

The funniest was during the Marriage Match game at the end of the cruise, they mentioned the winners get a bottle of champagne and someone gave an "ooooh" in the crowd. The Assistant CD said, "Don't get too excited. I think the crew just made this batch in the engine room a half hour ago." Wouldn't have surprised me.

Don't forget the wildly popular carabiner! ;)

There used to be better prizes.....alarm clocks, CD cases, umbrellas, caps, etc. They cheapened the prized a couple years back.

Nothing is as cheap as the prize most ships now give for winning the morning show question contest.

A previously used coupon to feed into the Casino Vault machine in the casino.

Carnival has all day trivia? Hmmm ...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Princess passport holders, which are very useful. Those and the pens are the only prizes I keep.

I had a similar experience with the champagne on the Coral Princess last month. At one point, our trivia team, which also convened for the evening game shows where possible, was being getting more bottles than we wanted, as none of us really liked the "cheap ship champagne". We started arranging with the bar staff to present the second place team with a cold bottle and glasses.

The most useful prize is the magnetic spring clip. We have a bunch of them. At home they work as bag clips, fridge magnetic clips and other uses. I pack 3 or 4 of them for cruises. The walls of the cabin are steel, the clip sticks to the wall, and you can clip papers to the wall rather then clutter on the desk. Cabin stewards, waiters, bar staff, do not have access to these clips. Even though inexpensive, these clips are a welcomed gift from the passenger. Crew can also use them in their small cabins.

I tend to distribute surplus prizes the last day, leaving them in mail slots. I try to give them to blue card holders, I figure they'll appreciate them most.

And think that Princess gives them to cruisers on every cruise.

We won umbrellas, CD cases, caps and my alarm clock that I still use. That was in the late 90's, early 20's. We play for the fun of it now, no prizes to get excited about.

We would play even without any "prizes"!

How things change SOMETIMES for the better

We were on the inaugural Princess cruise from Sydney

This was a fabulous cruise really excellent 76 days around the Pacific circle

The trivia PRIZES were a cardboard voucher (visiting card) and when you had collected SIX you could get a lanyard or similar prize\Obviously this was never repeated and as said the fans and the magnetic clips are great The water bottle is OK and the cap when we get it is good I have multiple packs of cards as well but we do use these on all cruises as we play before dinner when we have a drink

The mount of Maid Marion, played byOlivia de Havilland in The Adventures of Robin Hood under his original name, Golden Cloud.

This was before Roy Rogers' first movie and five years before Roy Rogers owned the horse.
