Well...according to my doctor and Bucky...I am a naughty girl..and not staying off of it enough. But damn...I do like my independence. Am the fastest boot traveler, and could probably win a marathon competing against other "booters". LOL!! ;p:cool:

Of course I do enjoy my "pain killers" of good wine in the DL/CL. :D

We like the wine too in the DL/CL.

Enjoy the rest of your cruise you both deserve it.

Well...since we are discussing parents. My mom passed away in October, 6 days before her 90th birthday.

We are up at her house this weekend trying to deal with some of her accumulated "stuff". Each dump run is costing us about $50 to toss broken lamps, dead fixtures and other junk.

It is going to take many more weekends of this to make it rentable or even estate saleable. We are looking at our own house and evaluating the stuff we can get rid of now, that we do not want to move with in the future.

We are light on booked cruises this year while we deal with the house issue.

I am so sorry. I do know what you mean. My Mom died two years ago, she had really bad dementia for years. Bucky's Mom is still in Ohio, at 92 years old...but still hanging in there. She also is suffering from extreme dementia. So sad to have to deal with that at the end of your "golden years".

So sorry to hear about your mam.

My mam died November 2011 with widespread cancer 10 weeks after diagnosis.

My dad died 4 months later he couldn't accept mams death.

It makes you realise you should enjoy life to the full and its great yourself and Bucky and Pauline and i do as best we can.

Enjoy the rest of your cruise and hopefully many more.

I hope they close all DL and give every D+ and up 5 drink-coupons instead!

That would be very nice! (y)

They could use the space to sell more T-shirts or guac....:D

Better still give all Diamonds 5 drink vouchers and make the DL into a C&A Lounge for D+ and Pinnacles.

As musch as I am looking forward to making Diamond and checking out the DL, 5 vouchers each (and no time restrictions! Just 5 per day!) would make me OK with waiting until D+ for the lounge. I love a good lounge...when we have a long layover in Atlanta, the Skyclub on Airside B is where you will find us...but if I'm being honest, I'm really here for the "free" booze. The ability to have that perk, and still be with people who don't...my parents, my in-laws, my brother and his family, my sister-in-law and her family, the group of teachers from my school who are cruising together this year...is more important to us than lounge access. #mytwocents

Somehow Royal is going to come up with something....what will be true, is no matter what some people will be unhappy.

We are Diamond and if I was given 5 drinks usable anytime of day, that could be fine to me rather than having access to the DL. We like the meeting place of the lounge as we always find it enjoyable to talk with new people, Often we cruise as a couple and look forward to that table sharing in the lounge for chatter....it could be a 15 -20 minute interlude as all of us scatter to other places. What I might miss is my coffee machine in the DL. but if I could get my morning latte or cappuccino from any other place at NC, that could make up for it.

The least important thing to me in the lounge during lounge hours is the food....yes, since it is there I eat some of it.....but I surely don't need to....I eat plenty all cruise long w/o it.

I think this would be fair and solve the D lounge overcrowding too.

Spoke to do concierge on freedom. She said that Miami does not want overflow. They want people to go elsewhere and use their 3 drinks on seapass.

Thanks for the information.

By allowing 3-5 drinks especially anywhere at any time during the day would be good PR by RC and would IMO keep diamonds onboard.

The C&A lounge would then be a true loyalty lounge for D+and P.

No. I have sailed Grandeur 3 times since 1/2/18. Each time there has been an overflow lounge in the South Pacific. I think Grandeur handles overflow very well in both the

DL and CL. Katherine

So glad to hear that about Grandeur. We like that ship. Just wish Serenade would duplicate the overflow for the lounge like Grandeur. Last year we had a great time with old friends, but last month we stood in line and took drinks into the other lounge.

We were told it was a corporate decision. Food and Bev also said it empties out after early dinner, but for some reason he did not go with me at 6 to actually see the situation. lol

As much as I am looking forward to making Diamond and checking out the DL, 5 vouchers each (and no time restrictions! Just 5 per day!) would make me OK with waiting until D+ for the lounge.

If I had 5 vouchers every day with no time restrictions, then I would never buy a drink package and never pay for a drink. That is exactly why Royal Caribbean will never do it; the revenue loss would be just too much.

Why are Diamonds not considered to have true loyalty? You all started as Gold and worked yourselves up just as we Diamonds are doing!

It is very easy for people to sit behind a keyboard and offer up other people's benefits. Maybe things would work better if they kick the pinnacles out of the suite lounges along with the suite people that are only cruising suites because they have a Casino Royale rate. Might as well throw the D+ out of the concierge lounge while they are at it and just have a Crown and Anchor lounge for everyone gold and up. That should work.:rolleyes::cool::D

We all started with 1 cruise and accumulated many more with royal. If their perks program was not so good I dont think there would be so many D and up members now. To me, as a business man, that is a very successful loyalty program.

Royal will have to do something to control it. We on these boards are doing nothing but speculating what could happen. Unless you have insiders knowledge we are just guessing here. Also all these "ideas" I have read will not make everyone happy. Someone will get left with the short end of the stick. Let us not fight amongst one another. How about being happy that we are cruising and met up to share some stories over drinks!
