FOXTROT Posted March 15, 2018 #101 Share Posted March 15, 2018 I thought it was a Margaritavile. I had heard it was to be called RCvile.
Blizzard54 Posted March 15, 2018 #102 Share Posted March 15, 2018 This is a really clever marketing aspect for them. Now with a massive water park, they can better push those 3 and 4 night cruises out of southern Florida that stop at Nassau and Coco Cay. Casino for the adults in Nassau and water park for the kids in Coco Cay. This would make sense with them manoeuvering a ship like the Mariner OTS to bring more people to the 3/4 night spurts. Wouldn't be surprised if they stick an Oasis-class ship on this route once this is all finished and try and maximise profits that way. I believe they already have the Oasis class ships scheduled to dock there.

Rare Oceansaway17 Posted March 15, 2018 #104 Share Posted March 15, 2018 There goes the nice relaxing beach day. Well think of this - stay on the ship and relax at pools. Besides many of us lead quiet lives and want excitement and fun on vacation. Suggest you go on Disney Castaway Cay where they have an adult beach.
alfaeric Posted March 15, 2018 #105 Share Posted March 15, 2018 IF you can even GET a private cabana. I was curious so I inquired by phone to Royal GS into the cost of cabanas, daybeds, etc. a month ago for an April sailing and they were sold out "pre-cruise". Was told they hold some back for purchase until after boarding. And? It is still the same thing as paying extra for a different experience that is being proposed. Nothing is different other than possibly availability. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Blizzard54 Posted March 15, 2018 #106 Share Posted March 15, 2018 I looked at the rendering of the island on the video presentation and compared it to some other renderings I found on the press release site. The one in the video is much smaller and does not include the entire island. It looks like there will still be plenty of space to get away from the crowds. I am looking forward to watch the progress as this project moves forward. We will be there several times from Nov to March.
leisuretraveler223 Posted March 15, 2018 #107 Share Posted March 15, 2018 I'm sure there will still be complimentary food available. However, I look forward to more premium options. I'm happy to pay for quality.
leisuretraveler223 Posted March 15, 2018 #108 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Sorry, but I find the people complaining about losing their "relaxing day at the beach" a little laughable. You're an a large scale, major market cruise line with thousands of people. If you want a quiet island escape, this is not it.
Rare island lady Posted March 15, 2018 #109 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Wouldn't be surprised if they stick an Oasis-class ship on this route once this is all finished and try and maximise profits that way. They already are. We are on Harmony out of PC that stops at Coco Cay December 2019. ;)
Rare island lady Posted March 15, 2018 #110 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Hope they don't mess with the far side. We have enjoyed going over there & seeing the sea life. Not to mention might only see two other people. They already are. Nature trail is gone and the other end of the island has a big fence prohibiting access as it is now a construction zone. :(
actuarian Posted March 15, 2018 #111 Share Posted March 15, 2018 I received a text from my friend saying that due to the transformation in coco cay lunch will no longer be free. I know rumors will begging to fly from now to the opening day but have your hear anything about it ? From the announcement: "For a heartier meal, Skipper's Grill will offer complimentary lunchtime favorites such as burgers, sandwiches, tacos and salads." OCruisers Posted March 15, 2018 #114 Share Posted March 15, 2018 The regular BBQ lunch will still be available on Coco Cay but they will be adding specialty dining options. Does anyone know FOR SURE yet what the specialty dining options will be??

nalatrixie74 Posted March 15, 2018 #116 Share Posted March 15, 2018 I kind of wish they moved the water park a little off to the side instead of walking right into it off of the pier. I wish it was more natural looking when you arrive. Im also curious what hurricanes will do to the tall structures. The zip line would be cooler over natural trails and water. Im not too resistant to the water park, but i guess, my perspective is in my daily life i dont get to see the ocean and palm trees and iguanas. Charles4515 Posted March 15, 2018 #118 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Just curious. Didn't see anything one way or another but they charge for the waterpark at Labadee so based on that......probably.
Flip2cruise Posted March 15, 2018 #119 Share Posted March 15, 2018 From the CC article https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=8498 Prices for entry to Thrill Waterpark will be for either a half-day day pass or a full day.

deliver42 Posted March 15, 2018 #122 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Why is it cheap on them. It's an option. I don't know of any free water parks on land either. If you want free, most of their ships either have or will have a free water park. Heck, with NCL, on Harvest Cay, you can't even use your drink package or have a free lunch. The only free things are the beach and the pool. qa4ever Posted March 15, 2018 #124 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Disney has waterslides on their private island that are included. If you stay at a hotel that has a waterslide at the pool, you don't have to pay extra. Was thinking it would be along those lines.
