Is this just lip service from RCI CEO?

Just saw this on the Royal Caribbean blog. Gonna post a link but I guess you can't post links? Is that true? Anyway the CEO had a question and answer session. It all sounds great but like I said do you think it's lip service? If the link doesn't work, just Google Royal Caribbean blog CEO question and answer.

That website is blocked because it has advertising for travel agencies and because it is just a guy with a website. Too many people think that it is an official site of the cruise line. It’s not.

The point to me that seem like lip service is cruising from California. Sure, its being evaluated, but can't figure it out from a business perspective, not going to say "no" but maybe "yes"...in 5 years....or 10.

I think he just said yes, no and maybe in one statement. :)

The part about the pizza and desserts improving. I mean they must know everyone complains about the food not being as good as it used to be. Seems like if they wanted it to improve they basically could very quickly. It shouldn't take time for the pizza to improve. I don't know but something about that seemed like lip service.

You will be glad to hear the pizza was improved on the Allure two weeks ago. It was really good!

Hmmm, the pizza is at 92% guest satisfaction. That seems pretty good to me. Why spend the effort and money to get it to 95%? They should spend it on improving the food that is less than 90% guest satisfaction.

Having said that, with the exception of not having enough variety, I think the pizza is just fine. Of course, I'm usually eating at 2 am after stumbling out of the casino. Ketchup on a piece of cardboard would be tasty at that hour.

The desserts on RCI have continued to get worse in the WJ (just off Freedom). My recent cruise with Celebrity I found the Ocean View Cafe (buffet) desserts to be just amazing. Seems like RCI could take a few lessons from them. And also having a portion of the buffet open later just like X does.

Yeah, but 90% of people always give everything a 10, so you have to drop the 9 and multiply by 10.

Anything that taste's as good as it looks....Celebrity did a very good job at this....RCI just can't seem to get it right...even the hot apple pie in JR's has changed for the worst....:eek:

You guys got me wrong. I love the food on RCI, I'm just saying most of the complaints are about the food so if they wanted to make it better it would be a quick thing. Also people complain about the windjammer and I think the food in there is excellent.

You're in luck then. That's usually what Royal Caribbean serves.

I have to agree with you. My DH returned to JR just for that pie. He was so disappointed on Indy. It was tiny compared to the previous piece and just not very good. His face just fell. Poor baby.
