Adults Only Beach on CocoCay?

I could care less if kids are around, we love watching them play.  Only time it is irritating is if a kid is constantly crying or screaming. Otherwise, we are good.  We never sit in the Solarium unless it is pouring as we like being out around people.

I don't think that's the topic here.  Kids are kids where ever...I believe this conversation pertains to a separate "adult" area on the beach for those who prefer not having to watch or listen to Johnny or Mary play.  Some people don't have, want or have adult children or just want some me time without noise, or just to be.....adults....  Not everyone wants to be with kids all the time....even some parents.

Plus 1 for this parent of a 24 and 27 year old who still get on our nerves only in a different way.

Thanks everyone for your responses!  My husband and I are taking our first trip alone since having our first child almost 17 years ago.  We had been to Disney's island and my husband was just wondering about the adults only area since we remember it from Disney.  No big deal- just thought if there was an adult area, we would take advantage of it!

Hello all

 

Well now I feel stupid. A couple of years ago we were scheduled on Oasis in a suite and ended up cancelling. Dh and I just booked the Allure for next year in Star Class. We had originally wanted to try the Oasis but given a choice between a cruise with Labadee and Coco Cay we went with CC and the Allure. I assumed ( I know, I know) that CC would have a suite area, never even crossed my mind that it wouldnt. Not going to change because of that alone but a good reminder to check everything, even what seems obvious to yourself before you book !

As I posted earlier, there is no adults only area on CC..yes, the Disney private adults only beach called "Serenity Beach" is spectacular, isn't it?..maybe they will build one in the future..let's hope!!

Love the idea of a adult only beach , bar and everything else, we do a music charter on celebrity that is great great music and adults only.  Wil look at virgin for future cruises.

There is a couple here on CC that does all cruises without kids on board.

 

They book swinger, nudist, and LGBT cruises.  You do not have to join in, but there certainly won't be any kids.

 

I don't have kids.  Most times, I don't mind them.  But also like the idea of an adults only area to be away from them.

First, you are on the wrong side of the caring continuum.

Second, that wasn't the question at all.  Some of us don't want to be around kids no matter how wonderful their parents imagine them to be.

3rd if they have multiple ships in port at the same time I can guarantee crying and screaming kids with a side order of sibling rivalry all going on while the parents are at the swim up bar.

boy. a lot of kid haters here. I paid a lot of money for my 6 yr old to go with us and expect her to not be confined to the on board kiddie clubs. I enjoy spending time with my daughter and expect to experience all that the cruise has to offer for all paying guests.

I don't think anyone hates them. I think some adults, myself included, like to have places without them. There is nothing wrong with that. The solarium is already adults only, so expectations may need to be adjusted there.

Lol let’s not over react. It doesn’t mean someone hates kids (or is trying to limit where you can take yours) just because they don’t want to watch or listen to them play all day. You have the entire island at your disposal. Folks are just hoping RCI might carve out a fraction for those who’d rather not enjoy kids like you do.

It all seems similar to having grandkids...we love them greatly when they are with us (and miss them when they are not)...while all that time knowing they're going home to their parents at some point so we can have some "us time" as well. 😀

 On a cruise, your kid can do some things adults can’t and we paid a lot to cruise as well. Not just the kids club, but family bingo, movies, etc. And there are plenty of things a child cannot do, such as the casino and comedy club. Just because there may some day be a beach for adults does not mean you could not enjoy a beach with your child. 

 

I often cruise with my granddaughters, who I dearly love. But that is a big difference than when we cruise as a couple. 

 

I hope Royal is listening.  For those who say Royal is a family friendly cruise line, Disney has an adults only beach and that company is about as family friendly as you can get.

We aren't kid haters.  But lets face it we are not talking about a hundreds of kids at one time we are talking about thousands of kids especially if there are going to be multiple ships in port. There is going to screaming if only for excitement of the activities add to that parents screaming at their kids in order to stop them from whatever bad behavior. I have been there done that with my kids over the years. Now I am in a different stage of my life and enjoy adult actives with my adult children and would welcome an adult only area. I'm not ready to say that I will never go to Coco Cay.  I'm waiting to see the reviews after there are a few ships in port at one time.  Even an over crowed adults only Island wouldn't be enjoyable. There are plenty of over crowed beaches on Long Island I can go to in a short driving distance.

We were on Coco Cay last week  on Harmony. Not sure of the kid count. Coco Cay is now so large and the crowds are so dispersed, that even with a 6500 passenger ship, it never felt crowded. Kids were NEVER a problem in the pool or at the beach. I’m guessing the slides attract a lot of kids.

I don’t think that’s the case.  I have 3 kids....enjoy spending time with them.  Also enjoy time away from them.  I could see your statement being true if people were asking for the entire island to be kid free. I don’t think that asking for a dedicated adult only section is unreasonable.

Yes, and we paid a lot of money to NOT have our cruise affected by the poor behavior of your (not necessarily saying that yours is not well behaved)  id.

 

Things you thing are precious, and annoying to others.  Even other parents.

 

Well behaved children are welcome in most places.   But they do not need to go to EVERYWHERE.

Well, I may not love most kids, but I don’t hate them!  I would just love to have a nice area, with limited people, where we can act and speak like adults.

I don't hate your kid, I just don't want your kid around in places that are for adults.

 

I don't think your kid wants me crashing the kids club and crushing them at all the video games or dunking over them at their basketball game.

I'm not a kid hater, but I do appreciate someplace where kids are not running around screaming and yelling.  I didn't feel like it was horrible last year, and they didn't even have the water park open.
