What's the difference between a kangaroo and a kangaroot ??:classic_unsure:

Ones an Australian animal, and ...

The other is a Geordie stuck in an elevator :classic_ohmy::classic_wink:

Not as early as most mentioned but who was addicted to The Waltons ?  Goodnight John Boy !

I was, I watched it with my dad before he went to work ( nights). Then there was Alias Smith and Jones, I think my mum fancied Pete Duel 😉

Hey Zap - ITV in the London area, back in the late 50s?  You too?

Torchy was on midlands TV too. Brothers and I were in awe.

Certainly, but one of my favourites back then was the flowerpot men, I think BBC in black and white.

Yes definitely black and white

Sorry - forgot all about the Midlands, which probably got ITV not long after London.  I know it was rather later in the Anglia region, but they did have a splendid theme, with a knight on a horse!

For those who missed out on Torchy, it was a pretty hi-tech CGI production known the world over for its production standards:

Have you forgotten Muffin the Mule!!😁 I can also remember watching Dixon of Dock Green on my Grannies TV, it had a weird screen that magnified the picture.

Definitely showing my age😂

Molly

Me too. Gran had a TV like that and we'd watch Charlie Chan.  Strange when you look back to when TV programmes were broadcast for a few hours each evening, and ending with the National Anthem and the disappearing dot.

I wasn't putting it forward for its quality, merely its age, however something even older that I can remember watching on my mates TV well before we had a TV, this was back in junior school days.

I should have said the programme was Billy Bean and his Funny Machine.
