Day 2

We had breakfast in the galley. Most food is served by the crew, except there are some to go items you get yourself. Sushi, wraps, salads, fruit and a few other things you could grab.

Omelets were made to order and it took about 15 minutes.

I tried the Brown Butter Financier and the Key Lime Pie and both were very good. There aways seemed to be a line.

Frameless vs framed glass shower in bathrooms?  What is your preference?

DH is insisting on frameless due to aesthetics.

I am against them because in his bathroom he has to put the bath mat outside every day to dry because the water leaks out of the gaps after each shower.

We are going to renovate our main bathroom (which currently has a framed glass shower) and we are at a stalemate over this….

We have frameless in one bathroom. Didn't have a choice.
I find it easier to clean and our shower floor sinks in a couple inches.

I installed this frameless shower door in the downstairs in-law suite's bathroom this past June. Pretty easy install if you take your time and double check all measurements and cuts.

That looks like a semi-frameless.

Why the shower curtain and the doors?

Curtain was up before door was installed. My Wife  really likes the colors of the curtain. Goes with the decor of the rest of the bathroom and living area of the in-law suite. It's a curved rail for the curtain so really doesn't effect the sliding door at all.

*Correct    semi-frameless

My Creative Writing class for those with Parkinson’s gave an assignment to write an essay about the life of a parent or grandparent .

Three of my grandparents passed away before I was born and the fourth when I was two .I am going to write about my father who was born in Poland in 1895 and came to the US in 1913.

Day 2 we went to see the show Around The World In 80 Minutes With The Diva.

While waiting in line I happen to see this special.

This wasn't on the menu and I don't remember the name, but it was good. It was something like the Dixie Krystal (the diva) Special or something.

Very nice pictures!
Did you feel that Virgin was more to your taste/liking than Royal or Celebrity? I have seen you tube videos and I feel it may not be for me, but cannot say for sure till I try it! May I say a bit too raunchy? What did you feel overall?

You can't get anymore frameless than ours.  It sure is a blessing to be able roll in.  We don't use a floor mat.  When the room was renovated the floor was slightly lowered near the shower to drain.

Wishing you a very belated happy birthday. I’m almost 70 pages behind and have a lot to catch up on. The food looks wonderful.

I'm seeing your pictures of food but nothing yet which ship or cruiseline you are on. I skipped the last day or two and trying to scroll back but wondering which ship.

Saw eye doc Wednesday and stopped by cpa after and doors locked. Thought ok maybe they close for lunch but went back later in person and still locked up. Turned out it's a Muslim holiday. They assume their clients know it's a big Muslim holiday I guess. I was told they fast for 2 weeks and last Wednesday they are allowed to eat.

Told myself dont panic there is a good reason. They havent closed up shop and absconded with my tax documents. So yesterday we got thru the tsxes. Yipee.

On top of that my bil who told me last year he understood karen had to change her address on her id to apply for homeowners. He said he did it, he didnt. My eyes didnt see well enough i cand read her address so didnt notice he lied. We sent in her ID with old address. Today they are going to update. 2 pm he says. My fault also for not noticing and double checking. He said he was tired of putting out fires. I said me too, and thinking had he updated his driving license and ID it wouldnt be a  push now. My time here in texas is getting tight.

And yes you can change address online and pay via credit card. He says he has a unused credit card for travel. Still never used, and not for this. It's like dealing with 2 kids. How hard can it be to homestead their house lol. Well you do need a texas id or drivers license with a matching address. I'm paying their property taxes so I need to make sure that it's done. Cant trust him to do anything.

Oh did I mention their car was totalled and he bought a pick up. My sister is on a walker or a wheelchair ... this is a really stupid choice with a hc wife. So hes dealing with paying off old car and the new pick up paperwork and feeling stressed. Me too.

Anyway I didnt read cc much yesterday. Numbers and stress overload.

Happy Friday, all!

I have a question for our posters who live in Australia, Canada,England and Israel. A report on TV this AM caused me to be curious.

Is the production of electric cars being promoted in your countries?

According to the report, there has been a great demand for such vehicles in the US.

Thank you- @aussielozzie18, @A&L_Ont, @grapau27, and @dani negreanu

Electric cars and Hybrid cars are being heavily promoted in England.

The lack of Electric chargers, increased cost of Electric cars and the short driving distances of 250-350 miles between charges means I am unlikely to buy an Electric car.

I'm back.  I've been forewarned. No major pain yet but that will come later today, tomorrow.  I'm ready for it!  Remember, I had open surgery, not laparoscopic.  I forgot to ask the surgeon why he chose that route.

Most pain is a sore throat from the tube stuck down my throat during surgery.

I'm armed with hydrocodone and motrin to hopefully zap any pain that pops up.

Again, thank you all for your good wishes.  Dani created a wonderful community of caring friends.  It's comforting to know we're here for each other to share our lives, good or bad.

I know I’m late since I’m about a month and 57 pages behind, but I’m happy to hear your surgery went well.

Too bad you didn’t get a chance to sail MSC when then allowed you to upgrade the premium drink package to a package that included everything they had at the bar including XO cognacs and 20 plus year old scotch’s , cost was 18 a day extra per person and it cost me a few hangovers, killed many bottles of Johnny Walker Blue , this was about 5 years ago . They also allowed doubles 😁😁😁

So I take it they don't do that now? That would be a great deal and I would take advantage of that.
