All is about done with the deck.  We will stain/paint this spring.  The new patio door needs the trim finish on the inside of the house.

I think we are going to love the storage underneath.

John, The decking / railing / stone work on the walls / screened in section and the underneath storage area all look Great!    I am sure you get many years of pleasure from doing this project.

Have a Very Merry Christmas with the family this weekend.  Hope to see some pictures of your Driver too!

Today we got to visit our new puppy Elizabeth "Lizzy" before we get to take possession of her on the the 26th. She is so sweet and so lovable I got teary eyed when we left. She is so adorable. We gave her a blanket and Christmas moose play toy with our scents on it for her to get used to us. She was shaking the moose all over and was hilarious. We had so much fun it was hard to leave. I shot some video of her other brothers in the litter. They are all spoken for except for one. People come from all over the country for this breeders dogs. We are so happy she lives close to us. Enjoy!

What a awesome video. That lucky puppy is going to have a great life.🙂

@dani negreanuYour photos of Nazareth are all very beautiful.    I really like that tall tree and how they cut out the section for the manger scene.     So sorry to hear about the markets being shutdown due to covid but the parking for streets what would they do if they were busy?.

At least you were able to get away and enjoy a change of scenery.

I can tell you a possible reason. I’m in 3 Bunco groups in my women’s club.
Two are breakfast groups and one is dinner. We each host once a year.
I alternate two casserole dinner recipes…baked spaghetti with a secret ingredient, and Paula Deen’s Savannah Hot Chicken Salad.
I was begged for the baked spaghetti recipe, and gave it away but made her promise not to serve it at Bunco.
The very next year she hosted the month before me and served my baked spaghetti. When I reminded her of her promise, she laughed and said at her age, promises don’t count.
I don’t mind sharing a recipe that can be found in a cookbook, but I don’t ever want to be in that situation again.

Not nice at all!  If she did forget where she got the recipe from, it wasn't very nice of her to laugh and say that promises don't count.  I'm sorry she did that to you.

I hope you start feeling better soon, Mimi.

I've posted this Good Samaritan "experience" on my book of faces, asking to share. It was such a moving gesture. We were drenched until we reached our guest house, and DH has a cold.

Awesome, Dani!  There is good in this World.   BTW,  all your pictures are beautiful.

Mimi- I do hope that your pacemaker and medication adjustment help you to feel better.

John ( Ozark_Kid) - I see that you have a screened porch as part of the deck.We have a similar arrangement and so enjoy sitting on the porch. My only regret is that we didn’t make the screen porch part larger. It is pleasant to sit outside without being bothered by bugs in the evenings. I am sure you will enjoy your new space !

Dani- Those are lovely photos of Nazareth.I have never seen photos of the City.

I was wondering why there were no crowds, especially at this time of year. The traveler ban explains the empty streets and places. Very good to see the decorations as the holyday/holiday traditions continue.

Thank you for sharing your visit and I hope your DH is feeling better with his cold.

The cookie talk here has gotten me hungry. I used to make bunches of Christmas cookies, now,not so much. My favorite is the Russian Tea Cakes that someone mentioned.

Wishing all a good evening !

Thank you!  That’s the landing from the first to the second floor of our house.  Facing East so flooded with sunshine in the mornings.  Cats are very good at finding warm spots 😺

Your room is beautiful, and I just love your window seats !

I think we are going to love the storage underneath.  They installed two separate double doors and installed a covering under the open deck to shield off water.  It will free up some garage space.  I plan to move the kayak and garden stuff soon.

Yesterday we came back from a one day [and night] stay in Nazareth. Our first visit there, and the main conclusion we draw from this visit is "not on the spur of the moment". The main attractions, while being in close proximity in the old city, are open at weird hours -- one closes at noon and opens again at 2PM, this one closes for 2 hours between noon and 2PM -- bottom line - hire a guide...

It was also a sad visit. Nazareth is built on foreign tourism, the majority being pilgrims. With Covid and the Omicron ban on foreign visitors, the city is "dead". Many-many shops and market booths were closed. Rows and rows of them...

The guest house were we stayed holds 18 rooms.

Your Christmas will be stretched, which is a good thing!

Nazareth - 3

There are no street names in the old city. Only numbers... Our WAZE (navigation system) went crazy, telling is to "keep right and turn in str. #6089"... Go figure with no names, unless someone painted the number on the walls....

Narrow side walks. No parking, people are stopping in the middle of the road, parking everywhere. While waiting for our car to be retrieved where it was parked 4-cars deep (leave your keys with the attendant), I witnessed a desperate mother trying to navigate with her pushchair the obstructed side walk, and another young woman having no choice but to walk ON the road...

IMG_6705.thumb.jpg.a37e87ca1c756b271c04689d24fa7db1.jpg

IMG_6702.thumb.jpg.fbc92d9f178f4595f8a372d34b6a78a2.jpg

IMG_6704.thumb.jpg.b6eb1a70fc71b138fe927c61fa783cd4.jpg

No police. Every one smiling and taking its time. We were stuck in the evening with heavy rain and took cover under a balcony. No taxis to be seen. Out of nowhere a youngster appeared with an umbrella and told us: "take it", disappearing before we could offer payment and thanks...

I've posted this Good Samaritan "experience" on my book of faces, asking to share. It was such a moving gesture. We were drenched until we reached our guest house, and DH has a cold.

I remember years ago in Israel, folks parked their cars on the sidewalk.  Honest!

@LuckynanaI just looked up recipe for Russia tea cakes they do sound yummy and easy to make.  Might have to give them a try this weekend.

I went to Riteaid for my pfizer booster today around 4:15 pm and was told they are only doing walkins between 10 and 2 pm due to the volume of people coming in and it was delaying the pharmacy from doing their prescription orders.  So I'll go back early tomorrow.

Our family tradition is the 12 days of Christmas.  We share small gifts the 11 days before Christmas and a bigger one Christmas. Kenzie opened her first day gift then went under the tree and grab another! 😂

I just had to share a pic of her cousin Lottie.  This is her getting her hair washed today.
