We found out some awesome news today!

Our daughter Christina and her DH received the results of there pregnancy genetic testing. And the baby to be has all normal results.
Now, with that she let us know they are having a reveal this Saturday with all family members. She is now 12 weeks.

Of course she lives 4 hours south of here and is having the party here.

So mom or should I say grandma to be ( me) goes into warp speed. Helping her coordinate party.

Menu finalized.
Now

Being from Ohio one must have a cookie table including treats.

And being from Ohio have to have home made Buckeyes.

Today made 42 Buckeyes. I never acquired a taste for them. So others will enjoy.

Then

the rest of the week I will be making

chocolate chip cookies

chocolate kisses cookies

banana brownies

nut keiffels

iced drop cookies.

Todays process

Talk to chocolate nicely so it melts well

Pleased with results.

Congrats to you and your daughter!  I don't know how one can never acquire a tase for Buckeyes.  They are the greatest "cookie" in the history of cookies.  I'm a little bit biased toward things that contain peanut butter (Reese's cups/pieces, Peanut Butter Chip ice cream...especially Graeter's, bananas with peanut butter, etc.).  One of the best things to come from my 28 years of living in Ohio (other than the birth of my daughters 😁) is being exposed to Buckeyes.  I'd never heard of them until living there.

We had a busy weekend.    Eric's Brother stopped by to say Hi on Saturday.    We haven't seen him in a while so we asked him to stay for a BBQ dinner.     He gladly accepted and we spent hours catching up.     Then Sunday I had to work on all the chores I didn't get done on Saturday.    I was very happy to finally sit down on our back patio around 4 pm and say that everything was planted, mulched, weeded, trimmed and mowed.    Now sit back and watch it all grow.     Our garden is thriving and Eric's sunflower plants must be growing an 1" a day - there are now over 3' feet tall.

I hung on the fence 4 license plates I have collected from Aruba, Bahamas, St. Maarten and Venezuela along with other outdoor decor (Flamingo's, Fish, etc).    Hung up near back door (on the siding) the wood and beaded sea turtles I bought in Antigua (360 store in port) in January.    Love them.

Dirty with three olives!  Used my Belvedere

They ran out of Belvedere on my Ovation cruise, then they also ran out of GG 😱.   Actually, they ran out of a lot of things.  One night my martini olives were regular green olives with pits!

I plan to do that Tuesday morning, but I have read you can test positive for a couple months.  Tomorrow will be 10 days since start of symptoms, so should no longer be contagious   Every one else was negative yesterday

It's been awhile since I had or have seen a buckeye. Good job.

I was wondering if the peanut butter covered in chocolate was the buckeye.

I  remember knickerbocker beer , I also started working down in wall st area when I was 17 , never was questioned about my age going to bars in that area even though drinking age was 18 , worked at US Lines at one broadway starting in January 1967 , turned 18 in June.

I didn't realize you worked at US Lines!  My first job in NY was for  Moore-McCormack Lines, at 2 Broadway.  (I found out after working there that my Dad helped build 2 Broadway).

My last job working in NY was on Wall Street, at the Law Firm of White & Case (Mayor Guiliani worked there, but I didn't know him).

I think the longest I walked was from the South Ferry up to China Town, and then to Mid-Town.  It was a great day, except for the blister I wound up with.

Went to the County Fair here Saturday for the concert with The Commodores.  They played all their hits.  “Sail On”, “Easy”, “Three Times a Lady”, “Lady (You Bring Me Up)”, “Too Hot ta Trot”, “Brick House”, “Nightshift”, and “Still”.  It was fun!  They were so good.

Your weekend sure was busy, Deb!  Lucky you to have finished all of your planting, mulching, weeding, and mowing.  I was busy yesterday and today seeding part of the lawn, and taking the magnolia tree down.  Still so much to do around here!  Our pool will be opened tomorrow...our pool guy retired, so we have someone new coming.  I want to get to my rock garden to weed, etc.  Never-ending...

I love the sound of your outdoor decor..  Enjoy!!!!

Funny my second job was in 2 broadway for Reynolds inc a brokerage company , at US Lines we had a large window in the computer room where I worked with a perfect view of the Statue of Liberty. I did lots of walking in nyc never had a drivers license until I moved to Texas in 1982. 2 broadway was featured in the movie the apartment with Jack Lemon.

If it makes you feel any better our local liquor store is also out of Belvedere and GG when I was there earlier today.
