Need help. I ended up getting a blister at the front of my big toe from walking. Never had it before from the sandals. It has gotten painful I think because when I walk it rubs and has gotten bigger. Would it be better to pop it to relieve the pressure and it wouldn’t rub so much? I have put the beige waterproof tape on it, but it still rubs. This tape has always helped other blisters from rubbing and getting worse. I don’t know what would be best and I don’t even want to walk off the ship tomorrow. Of course there could be other reason for that also. 😁

We don't typically recommend popping blisters because the fluid is sterile. This helps prevent the area from getting infected. Once the blister breaks the skin should be removed as the area will need to be cleaned to help prevent infection. However, you can wait to get home to remove the skin as the area may be sensitive once you do.

Not sure how to explain this picture I took tonight of the sky. The sun sets in front of the house but this picture was taken from inside the house of the sky out the side (end)of the house.

Almost looked like a fire in the sky behind white fluffy clouds.

20 minutes later it looked like this.

Rest of the sky out the back looked like this................Normal.

The second is a YouTube channel of a guy who owns a landscaping business.  Once a week, he transforms a completely overgrown landscape of a house where the owner has died, moved away, or is otherwise not capable, and no one is taking care of the yard.  There's not much talking...just 30+ minutes of sped up video showing him cutting everything in fast motion.  It's very strangely addicting to watch.  Here's one of his more popular videos if you're looking to kill an hour.

I too have watched a few from this channel.

I have a litany of channels that I watch daily.  Adventures with Purpose is another one. Sailing Doodles for the ocean views that I’ve been missing since our last cruise. Throw in some farming channels for good measure and Sam the Cooking Guy for food porn. Matt’s off Road Recovery for outdoor adventure. YouTube has become my version of TV.

Three wins with crazy endings and this is where Owen’s team sits for tomorrow in the finals. We have a bye, being in second place with three wins.

The team they played on Friday night (Woodstock) was the team that broke Owen’s arm and we won in the bottom of the 6th with a walk off. Lisa got to thank the paramedic who helped with Owen and she was amazed to how severe his injuries were. After the game the coach and the player that injured Owen came over and apologized too, a wonderful surprise. He accepted it but also said to him that he should never “tag” anyone like that again.

If we make the finals I doubt we will see them, as the other team with a bye has won resoundingly. Especially as we are down Owen and another strong player who boards Explorer of the Sea tomorrow.

Updates to come later tomorrow.

You really have to be deep with pitching for teams 3 through 6 , with 3 games in 1 day.

Went to a Broadway musical “Come From Away” this afternoon.  It is based on the events in the Newfoundland town of Gander where 38 international aircraft had to be diverted and land at the Gander Airport due to the US airspace being closed because of the terrorist attacks that had just taken place in New York, Washington D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.  The townsfolk shared tremendous hospitality and kindness to these stranded travelers during that week following the attacks.  It is a heavy theme and very moving but thank goodness there were some light moments in there with a few lively songs and dance numbers.  I had to look up where Gander is.  Just looking at the pictures, I bet it’s beautiful place to visit.

I'm on a train going home from Boston. Typing is very difficult. I do, however, like Amtrak and riding trains. It is much better than driving to and from Boston.

Who's lap did Jade sit in all day? 😹

I think I am going to hold out for my 2nd booster until the new one gets released this fall.

I hope you both avoid any side effects😃

We were hoping to wait to get the new booster, but we want to get it before our TA so we would need to get it before Oct 5th. I don’t think they will be out by then.

Diamond lounge on the lower section close to the windows.

@ReneeFLL This is a good question for @Ocean Boywith his medical expertise.

I took skin off a blister one of my heels once. I had so much pain as a result that I had to see the family doctor. He said never to peel skin from a blister and treated it with a powder salve product and gauze bandages. I am not sure about popping the blister.

Do you have other shoes beside the sandals. Maybe wear socks and sneakers to get off the ship ?

How about calling the medical center onboard for some advice?

Hope you get relief.

MJ🙋🏻

I do have other shoes, but they are even worse. With the sandals I can kind of hold my toe up so it doesn’t rub as much. It’s at the front tip of the toe. If it was on the side it would be much better.

I’m going with the suite lounge.

That would be nice, but it’s the diamond lounge.

Thanks for the info. It’s going to be a very long walk down the ramp getting off tomorrow. Will try to not let it rub to much.

Great information on the bear differences.      I hope I never see a grizzly or black bear up close enough to see how long their nails are.

Gary spotted a bear whilst cycling the Canadian rockies. He stopped to take a pic, but a car also stopped blaring its horn to get the bear attention. Gary took off fast, there isn't much protection on a bike

My doctor said never break a blister as it allows an infection to get in.

It is 60°F and light rain at 08.23am in North East England.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Take care.

Graham.

London is nearly always the hottest area in the UK and a new record of 40°C around 104°F is forecast for next Monday and Tuesday.

The problem in the UK is we're not set up for extreme weather. Hardly anyone has air conditioning and even public buildings often don't.  To matters worse we're having new floors fitted on Mon and Tues and my son is moving house on Monday

It is forecast for mid 80sF up here in County Durham.

I don't mind the sun but it is the humidity especially indoors which I don't like.

I hope everything goes well Sue with the fitting of your new floors on Monday and Tuesday and your son's moving house goes to plan.

Take care.

Graham.

This is our daily walk from our house through National Trust Woods to a Ridge where you can see for over 50 miles . Getting walks in early over the next few days because of the heat

You can spot Molly lying down in the shade 20220717_090509.thumb.jpg.d2c3453ed07f525ae413b170a2601c14.jpg

100% correct.

Add to that the one game Friday and two on Saturday there are teams down already low especially with pitching protocols. We were surprised to see quarter finals by the organizer, so our goal was to avoid it at all costs. Of our 9 that can pitch, we still have 7 of our available pitchers available, and 2 are done for the weekend. Only one of our pitchers can’t pitch a full 95 today. All that being said there are 2 of them we’d rather not use because they are not as strong.

Semis and finals are 7 full innings and have no time limit, but there is a mercy rule.  These games could be interesting just because of the pitching limitations.

This might sound strange but see if you can find some duct tape.  I went to a 3 day golf school about 15 years ago.  We hit so many golf balls that our hands would form blisters.  The instructors had us wrap them with duct tape.  It kept the blisters from rubbing and is flexible enough to behave a little like skin.  Not very fashionable though.
