Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Was invited down by the newlyweds to share time when they opened their wedding gifts. The DH had to work and I drove down all by myself (😳).
6 hour drive to Richmond Kentucky.
I packed up the car with most of her bridal shower gifts and once here have cherished every minute with them.
Went to Churchhill downs where the Kentucky derby is run, shopping, but more importantly just being together and sharing time.

Heading home tomorrow. Kentucky traffic is painful. Hopefully on the road by 5 am.

Take care.

I was wondering about the wedding. I have not caught up on past posts, so sorry I may not have read if you posted. Hope all was wonderful.

It was very nice to share time with your daughter while opening gifts.

I often mess up my responses.  Like this one.  I wanted to quote your post that I too would love to read about your Greek vacation review in here. You take the most awesome pictures!

Bonnie, I am constantly messing up my responses.  Also, I wouldn't even know how to begin the way you all will list so many quotes, answering each one, all in one post.  Am I making any sense the way I just wrote this??🤔  Tech savvy, I am not!  Post pictures??  Forget about it!  Months ago, Crystal tried to explain to me how to go about posting a picture.........

I'll try ... pls. forgive my English.

+ Quote

If you want to multi quote, push the + on "Quote" 's left. On the right on the screen a text will appear with "one quote", etc.

Continue to push + whenever you want to quote.

At the last one, push the text and all the quotes will appear.

Today was corn day.  Took our grandkids to a farm, and today’s program was all about corn.   How to tell if it is ready to pick, how to pick it, along with many other things about corn.   They must have paid attention, because they were talking about many of the things they learned.

It is a really nice program this place does for the young kids, and they have groups going through every half hour.

A ride to the corn field in the tractor pulled wagon

We cooked the corn they picked, and they did an excellent job.  Very delicious

We had the other two tonight so our daughter and her husband could celebrate their anniversary.  Fourteen years for them today.

Congratulations to your daughter and son-in-law.

Last Fall, we tied tall corn husks up against our Flag pole in the front of our house for Thanksgiving.  We now have a tall corn stalk with several ears of corn growing there!

😃

Tap on the 3 dots at the upper right of your post. You will see an option to edit. However, after a certain amount of time (I think around 15 minutes) the ability to edit goes away.

See the 3 dots at top right of the quote.   You should be able to click on those 3 dots then click edit, make your change, then hit save and it will resubmit it.    😍

Just curious, does his baseball & soccer schedules ever overlap? If so, how does he choose which one to play?  My kids played soccer and softball, but soccer was always in fall and softball in spring/summer.

We started out the day with a trip to the dentist, then rain.  When the rain stopped, we had a surprise visit from my daughter, and the other two grandkids.

Since this was one day we had nothing special planned, we made it an Olympic competition day.

We had weight lifting.

I finally found a use for some of those medals I won on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. Everyone was a medalist. They all got a kick out of those.

Ball takes priority as it is rep ball.  Soccer is tier two and secondary but the coach has been Owen’s coach for years and knows he comes to win. They will overlap a few times over the season but other kids have missed games and aren’t playing two sports.

Next week Owen is a hockey camp and has and hour to get the either ball or soccer, for warm up. It will be tight but we will get it done.

I love this. My grandmother did the exact same thing with us during the 78 Olympics in Montreal. My folks were actually at the Olympics watching them.

Went for a our usual walk this morning. It was about 17c (62f) and sunny. These woods are about 15 minutes walk from our house and from this viewpoint you can see all the way to the south downs on a clear day, roughly 50 miles

If any of you remember my life review from a few years ago, the bikini girl was modelling/posing outside my window out from of the hydrangeas on the grass. My office sent it to me as an FYI, and it was rather funny. We did not charge a site fee.

Well I know my vaccine works.  I was just advised that an event that I was part of last week for several days had a significant covid outbreak.  There was no ability to social distance and while masks were made available to anyone who needed or wanted them I saw very few were wearing them.  I certainly was not.  I do not know who or what percentage of people were vaccinated but my suspicion is that it was a low percentage based on the demographic that were participating.

7 days after the end and 10 days after my initial exposure at the event and I'm as healthy as a horse.  Those who were affected were showing symptoms by Tuesday at the latest.  Of those that I am aware of, all are only mildly symptomatic and many of these have significant co-morbidities that should have exacerbated the virus.

CDC says get tested 3-5 days after exposure.  My test just came back and it is negative.

Yea me! 😇

So I was at my office today, for an annual event which has returned in our town after last years Covid break.  Rib Fest is its name, a BBQ cook off with pork/beef ribs, chicken, sausages, pulled pork and brisket. Sides of slaw, beans, corn bread, Mac and cheese and scalloped potatoes.

My role in all of this event, I play the role of a fictional character called “Riboclaus” and give our head office staff $20 each for a group lunch. Only rule, the can keep the change, but if it’s over $20 it’s on them. They also get a half day tomorrow on this upcoming long weekend with full pay. They get 5 other half days through the year, on long weekends.

Rib Fest starts today at 11am and runs through Monday of the long weekend. I might add my office is at the end of the block, just steps away. Riboclaus likes that too.  I might return. 😋

It’s all about the signage. This local Team competed and won at the Calgary Stampede cook out this year half way across the country. I got some from them and another team named Oak and Barrel from Chilliwack BC. @Tree_skier you might want to hunt them up one day. They are both my favourites.

Lunch anyone? Not sure how productive the crew was after I left.

Sounds like a fun event.   Might have to make our way down the street from us and pick up some ribs.
