Will RCL/Cruise Lines get to choose the vaccine they require to allow you to sail?

We are taking Vitamin C, D3, and Zinc. You should always check with your doctor before taking any medications or over the counter meds especially with your heart condition.

Currently the family doctors(GPs) are only doing telephone appointments.

If I took bad Pauline would ring an ambulance and they would take me to hospital about 4 miles from home.

As there is no visiting currently allowed at hospital that would be last resort for me.

The surgery pharmacist didn't recommend taking anything when I spoke to her on Monday but I have written down your suggestions thanks and see what she says.

My heart prescription includes Lanzoprazol.

I have been taking 2 Vitamin D3 tablet's daily for a couple of weeks

Bigger question.....I have had it and recovered.  I have a piece of paper I keep with me that says I've had it.  Why do I need a vaccine?  And why should I take one to get a certificate that says so?  I want to get on a cruse too, but some of this nonsense needs to get sorted out and the more the CDC mucks in the way the longer it will take.  Fact.

You raise a great point. If you have had it, and you have protective antibodies, why should you have a foreign substance injected into you? Schools and jobs that require immunizations typically require vaccination records OR blood antibody titers that demonstrate probable immunity, OR physician diagnosed history of having had the disease.

I don't think cruising will begin before May or June if cruiselines are going with proof of vaccine.  The thousands of crew members alone will have to be vaccinated and most are not going to be able get the vaccine due to the priority of the phases on who gets them first.  (health care workers, nursing home residents, the older age population, etc.,)  Even by June or July I think very few ships per line will be sailing. I suppose it depends on the number of vaccines that can be ready, and so much more behind the scenes that we are not even aware of yet that must take place.

Let me ask this. If one is vaccinated, and works around COVID19 patients, what’s the probability they can pass COVID19 on to others.

I don't think that has been answered definitively yet. I read something yesterday that about the length of immunity being longer than previously reported. It suggested that you might be able to pass on the virus, but in much lower quantities for a much shorter time, or you may never shed enough virus to be infectious.

I hope you are feeling better soon. I don't think I want to catch it to test the immunity theory. With my luck, I would then contract the mink variant.

Hopefully these promising vaccines will be available early next year so you can be protected and look forward to cruising again.

SARS1 and SARS2 are closely related.  Research on SARS 1 gave us a jump start on SARS 2.  SARS 1 infectees are immune 17 years later.  SARS 1 infectees are immune to SARS 2.  

 

Kommon Kore math is not needed to answer the question, although the truly scientific answer is "we don't know" because it is novel and we dont have a lot of history.  As every day passes we get an extra day of demontrated immunity.
