Has Carnival pricing more than doubled?

I did some ultra cruise. If one is not a gambler where would I find a list of these cruises so they could be avoided? The last few I've done on carnival were bad enough I'm starting to say carnival isnt for me, only for gamblers.

I was saying due to real experiences ... not some thread, I'm finding I dont enjoy carnival as much. I dont know how to avoid these ultra cruises, but it wasnt fun. Priority had no meaning. Belize was a tender port and again same as customer service, boarding ... too many priority to not be a zoo. Boarding was late, they had to open two more sections for all the priority. It was just too crazy for me, not like how carnival used to be. Maybe I'll find it just as bad on rcl, but I'm ready to do more rcl. Only rcl and carnival out of Galveston for those who will be quick to say well do another line.

If you had a certain cruise in mind you could just post it on here and I'm sure someone would let you know if it's an ultra or premier.

These are the ultra cruises out of Galveston I have offers for this year:

Vista:

Sept 25

Oct 23

Nov 13

Dec 4

Dream:

July 24

Nov 6

Wow, I knew she posted that she'd rebooked for Sept. 2021 and I thought she wasn't gonna be happy about Vista 9/26. However, her cruise sig. lists her rebooked on Vista for 9/11/2021. So, looks like good news there.

That's good for her then. I have no casino offers for the 9/11 sailing.

Early this year I booked Mardi Gras extended balcony cabins for April 2022 and April 2023.  I'm glad I did because there is definitely a demand for cruising.  The April 2022 cruise is $400 higher now for standard balcony and only has limited rooms left.  April 2023 is $200 higher now.

That is exactly what is needed for comparison purposes. Too many were posting about peak/off-peak dates. The summer dates I've looked at have very, very high third pax rates.

I feel so guilty talking about her behind her back.

Not behind my back. I booked last sept for sept 2021. Id had 3 carnival cruises cancelled so thought I picked a date way out to be safe. My date for lowest booking on my cruise is up over $600, for what I'd consider a smaller less desirable cabin (can no longer book my cat). I'm booked at what I'd consider about what I've paid other years. We have over 350 on my roll call, many newbies. I sure hope we go and they get to do their first cruise. Looks like i dodged a bullet on the ultra cruise in sept.

Dont have any idea why my date on vista seemed to catch fire and get so many booking it early on. Maybe several group cruises. $640 to me is a lot to increase. I wouldnt book at today's price.

It also depends on what you are comparing the price to. Last year there were some killer deals, gone this year. Prices like $500 14 days to partial Panama cruise. Plus tax. Now it's over 2k starting. Its dependent on what you compare the price to. The 5 after carnival vista are all killer deals I wouldnt ever see again in my lifetime. All were 2020 prices rcl allowed to be lifted and shifted.

No, sorry, you're wrong and I know from first hand experience.

I've been on Msc and I'm not going to argue the price with you.i was looking at their site a while ago because I prefer msc over carnival.unfortunately a lot of carnival cruisers are trying them out.i only book carnival when the grandkids go with us.

I don't want to jump to conclusions - could you explain what you mean by "unfortunately a lot of carnival cruisers are trying them out" for me?

Does MSC have less of the "it's all about me" crowd? If so I'd like to try them out too.

I don't understand.  Someone just yesterday did a mock booking for four people on that cruise, and said it came to $3500 or so:

I just looked at a 7 day for aug 2022 --Panorama for August 13th  ..   4 people in a room..$3518

Not sure what you were pricing?

I just did a quick mock booking for a balcony on that date and got $3518 for four in a cove balcony, or $3658 for a regular balcony on deck 6.

What else are you including?  Or are you upgrading your balcony room?

EDIT: and I cleared my VIFP and any other possible discounts.

My Celebration TA  in November 2022 was 3693.48 including insurance for 2 people in a guaranteed balcony cabin which is about 132 dollars a day per person which i think is an ok deal? maybe im wrong.  And my February 2023 Glory 7 day was 2177.34 for 2 people in a Balcony including tips which works out to 155 dollars a day per person. Again not that crazy to me.  Whereas my February 2022 Panorama cruise is 2813.71 for 3 people including tips and insurance in a Cove Balcony which works out to 134 dollars per person a day.

I agree with @firefly333 im not a big gambler and I do play onboard most cruises but the number of casino offers i get has substantially increased enough to overshadow the other offers i get lately.

Lol I was watching stocks on stock channel talk about inflation and how much prices have gone up. ... hahahahaha, cruise prices were mentioned as having gone up. It's not just carnival, it's all cruise prices  .. part of all prices increasing they say. It's not our imagination prices are up.

My vista price has gone up, 1520, for a inside deck 1, or deck 2  fore aft, a 4A, lowest cost to book. Was 1501 for 1 solo pax last week. Up another $19. Looks like I wouldnt be matching for a price cut. And it's the top of hurricane season. And kids are back in school.

Well i wasnt going to book this year but my new PVP talked me into my first solo cruise.  4 day inside cabin deck 9 out of LA on the Radiance in November for 719 dollars including tips and insurance that comes with 500 OBC and drinks on us in the Casino.  So basically a 219 dollar cruise for 4 days.  I thought that wasnt too bad for a quick getaway.  Just praying the border opens so i dont have to test 72 hours before flying there, test 72 hours before flying back, book a 3 night hotel stay at my cost to wait for the test results for the test i have to do when i land and then if negative quarantine at home for 14 days.  That will add up to significantly more than 219 dollars lol.....

Nope....have not more than doubled. With the cancelations and other shifting around we've done with our booked and rebooked cruises, we've rebooked an 8 day Southern Caribbean ABC cruise on the Horizon from Miami, 3 times...May 2020, 2021 and now May 2022. Same balcony cabin category...may even be same deck 10 cabin. Cost for May 2022 is about $400 higher than when we first booked for May 2020.....May 2021 was somewhere in between. So I'm going with not doubled.
