I am somewhat confused about the offer to upgrade to the Indulge Package.

From what I can see, it is $60 per person, per day.  So to upgrade two people the cost would be $840 ($60 per person for seven days = $420 - $420 multiples by 2 people is $840).

I understand that we would then get $800 OBC ($400 per person).

Could we use the $800 OBC for anything, including buying chips in the casino and then cashing those chips in?

This is no special deal for booking it onboard.  It's the same to upgrade to Indulge regardless of how you book.  For 7 day sailings OBC is $300 pp so $600 total.   OBC is used to offset your seapass account so anything that's charged to your seapass.   Yes you can use it to buy chips in the casino but you can't just cash them in.  They are special promo chips which can be used to bet, any winnings are paid out in regular chip which you can cash out.  There are many threads about using OBC in the casino on the main Celebrity board.

The real benefit of booking onboard is the OBC outlined in the chart as well as a reduced deposit.  The question is still out if they are still offering the reduced deposit benefit.

Thanks for posting these updates especially while you are enjoying your cruise, it fascinating for the mainland observers.

It is interesting the the OP on the Edge says that no one is talking about vaccinations or even cares.  As someone who is sailing in a few weeks AND vaccinated, I don’t particularly care either but do wonder how the unvaccinated passengers (more so the 2 unvaccinated adults) are being treated since they must probably stick out because they are supposed to be wearing masks when not in their cabins.  It would also seem to be lonely being in the dining room or theatre is a separate area since they are the only 2 people onboard unvaccinated.  I guess it gets you notoriety in a way that may or may not be positive.

Enjoy your cruise!

Good morning from the Edge.  You really do not see anything unusual like a seating area. Further, many passengers wear masks in elevators or around from time to time. Plus all the crew have masks. So it’s not a situation where you know who the 2 are. My only concern going forward is enforcement of masks when and if the % unvaccinated or declining to say is meaningful. So I would say for this cruise the numbers are not meaningful in the big picture.

For Celebrity, given 65+ is around 90% vaccinated a large block of their target market default into what they are looking to attract.

So this is something that I was a little apprehensive about. I thought it may be the ‘COVID conversation cruise’ but so far for us it’s the exact opposite. It’s almost like no one wants to even mention it which is a very refreshing change!

Crew still wearing masks but they are saying they may allow them to take them off within a couple more cruises.

Just noticed the note saying we are now allowed to get off the ship without a Celebrity tour tomorrow is Costa Maya.

Yes, I read a few days ago you had to have a booked tour. Essentially keeping everyone in excursion bubbles to be able to contact trace if a problem arrises.

Totally agree.  It’s like a ship of likeminded people.  Feels totally normal and a refreshing experience.  Enjoy our 2nd at sea day!

So it’s kinda late and I’m gonna try and reply to all threads.  No one cares about sharing vaccination information on this cruise.  Maybe it changes over a period of time, but I’ve tried to stay on message with this question for days now. Literally, no one cares.  No one cares.  No one cares.  Not one single person I’ve spoken to cares to say YES I got vaccinated.  I hope this ends these comments.

I don't doubt what you say that "no one cares" of all the folks you have interacted with on board but I imagine the cruise line cares and so does the CDC.

When I finally get on a cruise ship, (fingers crossed Edge in August) I’m not interested in talking covid or vaccinations…but I’d be hard pressed not to say over and over and over again how wonderful being on a ship is after the past 16 surreal months!

Who in the world would "decline to say" they are vaccinated if, in fact they ARE vaccinated? I just do not understand the rationale behind that. Why in the world would anyone subject themselves to those pesky protocols that vaxxed folks do not have to follow such as masking indoors? I just can not wrap my head around the rationale other than they are pushing some sort of an agenda.

CoffeeBean, I agree.  Let’s just focus on learning from this cruise and keep our eyes on enhancing our future cruises.

Unless "literally no one cares" means that none of the stated protocols are being enforced??

They are, however, there are essentially no unvaccinated people aboard, so it’s not a difficult task.  They enforce at Port handing out masks to people that did not have.  You could remove once onboard.

I DO NOT think anyone would...BUT it is the wording that allows them to get around the foolish FL law.

I am actually certain this law will go to court (we have provided vaccine records for schools for YEARS), but the cruise industry realized that could take too much time so they needed a work around.

Considering the demographic of cruisers in general, it's not surprising most are vaccinated in general. (and that most who aren't are children)

Keep in mind Celebrity caters to an older demographic. Assuming this holds, you are around likeminded people.  65+ is at around 80%+ vaccinated.

No--it means no one talks about it as protocols have been followed.

Agree KKB.

Gee, that did not cross my mind. I would hope that what ever protocols that must be adhered to are, in fact, being enforced. How can cruising get back in the game if protocols are ignored?

If we become worried about enforcement while on a cruise it becomes un-fun.  So let’s hope Celebrity caters to your demographic.

Question about Luminae seating. Do they have table for 2s by the window on the Edge like they have on S class ships? My DW and I really enjoy them.

Ken, first, thank you for a non-vaccine question.  So there are a few tables they can split into 2 people.  Primarily I recall it was at each end where there is a booth on one side and in the middle where there is a series of three two tops they can make into one big table or three 2 tops. Cheers.

Thanks! I was just wondering because the pictures I saw online really weren’t giving me a warm fuzzy there were. No big deal. We’ll just be glad to start cruising again when it’s our turn on Aug 7th. Have fun!!!😎

Hi Bnurick.  I asked a question earlier maybe you missed it - is the future cruise credit offer still bookable with a $100 deposit?  I can barely make out the small print on the brochure you posted.

Thanks so much for your posts!

Hey Josie, so I didn’t answer because I didn’t know!  😂 I just walked by and asked someone waiting and was told it is $100 per person.  Have a magical day!

Your welcome.  I haven’t posted in years, but thought I would for this one.  I’m learning from the questions too.  Chef’s Table tonight with wine pairing, beyond stoked for this experience!

Thanks so much for taking your time to do this. Dare I hope that X still is putting orchids in the public restrooms?  Still cloth towels?  Just a couple of touches that wowed me the first X cruise I experienced.

39august, there are cloth towels in restrooms.  Now in the Men’s restrooms I don’t recall flowers, however, if there were before in the women’s I think that hasn’t changed.  Cheers from our current view.

Thank you so much for your posts.  They are very helpful.  Looking forward to hearing about your Chef Table experience.  We've never done Chef Table but are booked for the July 10 sailing.  Beyond excited
