I’m interested in how “the bar is closed” portion works on a ship like Dream where the casino bar is the only place to watch sports. And it’s football season. Can you still sit there and watch? If not….I’m trying to think if there are any TVs on Dream outside of the casino. Interesting.

I'd speculate that is covered by the no gathering in the casino aside from active players provision. Nothing in there really implies that rule is only in effect when the casino is open. But your speculation is as good as mine.

On the Magic, there are TVs in the Red Frog Pub. But it doesn't look like Dream has one?

Can't they smoke on outside decks?

In certain areas. I know the ships that have it on like deck 11 it’s really windy up there and nothing happening. They really gave them a better spot on deck 8 or Mardi Gras right outside the Italian area and there’s a bar and waiter out there. And it gets packed.

We're on Mardi Gras in December, a week after the regular college season ends and before bowl season - but we're hoping to watch some NFL games on board.

oh gosh just realized you said you’re going to be on Mardi Gras. I’m afraid it’s not going to be the best ship for watching NFL. I mean they have the hero’s room. It has two big screen TVs. A couple couches and chairs. No bar. Quite a glare from outside. No sound because they play music in the P&A. I think that’s the main spot. At the pig and anchor bar there’s a single TV on each side of the bar. Then there are a few TVs around the restaurant in weird spots above booths. Where…if you’re sitting in the booth I don’t think you can really see it. And if you aren’t sitting in the booth you’re going to be standing there staring at the people sitting there eating to watch the game. And then outside on that back deck there is a little sitting area on each side that has a tv. While I was there they just had carnival ads on them but maybe hopefully they can put games on them.

Or make sure UCF is on ESPN or ESPN2. That’s how I’m getting on Panorama next month. They have a nice sports bar area and the Saints are on Monday Night Football. Side note had to be happy to see McKenzie Milton play the other night. Even if it was for FSU.

Absolutely! Not going to lie, I cried the whole time he was in. Once a Knight, always a Knight - we'll watch every FSU game we can as long as there's a chance he plays. I'm still keeping my eye out for a cruise that might work but we go to every home game and may try to hit an away game or two. We'll see what happens. It will be odd watching the Saints play without Drew Brees this year.

Well the good news is Dolphins have a bye week so not a huge deal if we don't watch other games. But if we can find seats near a TV and there's a game on, we'll watch.

BIG QUESTION   Going on the Magic Sept 27.. I had read that they put in a SMOKELESS CASINO in the same area.. Utilizing an unused meeting room.. Can anyone confirm this..???   I just don't get the point of smoking if this is so serious and getting vapor particles float around...

This is no surprise since so many of the Vista crew members who worked in the casino got covid.  That area seems like high risk for spreading the virus.

It is high risk because of smoke. Particles travel farther, stay active longer, and goes to everyone. Easier solution is to eliminate smoking and vaping in all casinos.

That would be the common sense approach during a pandemic.  More and more vaccinated people are getting and spreading the virus, so these 95% vaccinated cruises aren't as immune to spreading as once thought.  The testing for everyone goes a long way, but allowing smoking indoors during a pandemic makes no sense.

confirmed.  nice that it is smokeless.  it's on the 4th floor between the dining rooms.  kind of annoying playing with a mask on, but if you want to gamble smokeless it's great.

It unfortunately makes economic sense since the revenue generated by gamblers is number one to the economic bottom line feasibility, with alcohol sales and then excursions.
