Replies not being posted

Recommended Posts

Is anyone else having the problem of their replies not being posted?   I will make a reply. Submit and then it is lost.   It is frustrating that I take the time and effort and then see that it isn’t posted.

I have been having problems for about 5 days. I will be logged in and go to reply and it pulls up the entire thread and won’t post my reply indicatingIm not signed in.  I have cleared cookies but that didn’t help.  Problem only occurs on my IPad not on Iphone.  Anyone else seeing this when they attempt to reply?95F56930-8224-4F27-9C23-280687AEEE0C.thumb.jpeg.b66e58048d5ca0c2e50a370818278758.jpeg

Being half signed in has been a problem for me for a while.  Still half logged in to read, but half logged out and unable to submit a reply, or if do, have it recorded.

Sometimes the real message saying I'm not permitted to access content comes up, but not always.

The randomly timed timeouts have annoyed on and off for months.

This has happened to me as well. I had to log out and log in again. Frustrating…

This was frustrating me so much I was nearly tearing my hair out.  I was at the point where I was going to stop looking at Cruise Critic altogether.  I also could not get into my cruise planner when they had that 20% off excursions.  DH is a computer expert, so he decided it was time to get rid of Windows and resort to Linux.  It is a steep learning curve for me but I have no more trouble posting.  Yay.

Yup, it happened to me recently.  My post just disappeared.  I didn't bother to repost. 😁

Having CC logging you out has nothing to do with any problems with your computer's operating system.  If DH is an expert, he would know that.

FWIW, it happens just as frequently on my Android phone.  Ask DH what Android is, at it's core, under the user interface (a modified Linux kernel), and what it has in common with Windows (nada).

Doesn't matter what browser I'm using, either.

This thread has been moved to the Need Help Using the Forums? Check Here! forum where it will be on topic. Please note there are previous threads on this forum concerning various ongoing software issues. Stated in the Posting & You! section of the Guidelines: "Browse a topic first to see if your question has already been asked or answered by someone else..."

hopefully I am posting info that is helpful to those trying to fix problems:

I am on a MacBook running Mac OS Big Sur 11.4

for the last month or so, every time I want to use cruise critic, I have to clear all cookies, log out, then log back in....  occasionally this won't help, & I have to shut down computer, then log back in.

If I don't do these steps, I can't react to content, but I can type a reply, which will not actually post...

I'm not clear on what you are saying.

When you tap / click in the Reply to box, previously entered text appears and you click the link to Clear content? Normally when this happens the content in the reply edit is removed, the edit is then blank ready for new input. How does your experience differ?

I key a  comment on a roll call and press submit and it never shows up on the roll call.  It seems like my posted are just going into space.  Are they being edited or blocked?

I have merged your new thread into one of the existing threads regarding your situation. As you can see, you are not alone and there are many other ongoing problems concerning software issues at this time. Hopefully something in this merged thread will be helpful. And no, I do not see any of your posts in the Approval Queue or being blocked.

CC Help Jenn, Senior Community Support Specialist at help@cruisecritic.com, and the IT team as well as the software developer are working on all of the issues. Please have patience. See her notice titled October 19, 2021: Log In Issues in the red bar at the top of all forums and her post #519 for the latest non-update.

Any further questions, comments or feedback regarding the matter should be sent to her via email from your Cruise Critic email address of record. Please mention your Cruise Critic user name, device, browser and include any screen shots that might be helpful.

Thanking you in advance for your patience and cooperation,

What?  This isn't about board management.  I'm reporting a problem with the website.

Yes, the help here is in regard to your signature, avatar, or any of the other things regarding your use of the board software. However, this problem as well as all of the other ongoing software problems have already been reported in various threads on this forum. CC Help Jenn, the IT team & the software developer are all well aware. The rereporting or complaining about the various problems becomes a board management situation. Therefore, please follow the Guidelines you agreed to follow when registering for membership:

... Discussion of the management of this community is not allowed on the forums..."

"... However, we would be happy to address any concerns you have via email.   Please write to the Community Manager at:  community@cruisecritic.com..."

"... The Community Manager has overall control of everything that happens within the Community. The Community Manager oversees how the board is styled, what forums to create and how to organize them, is responsible for our Rules of Participation, what information to require from members and who to appoint as Community Hosts. You may contact the Community Manager at: community@cruisecritic.com ..."

"... If you have any questions or comments regarding our posting guidelines or any content found on our message boards please be sure and let me know. I'll be happy to discuss them with you.

LauraS

Again, thanking you in advance for your patience and cooperation,
