Would love to hear what kind of restrictions you are finding now with the changed protocol. There are a few posts on another site, and the people wish they cancelled. It doesn't sound like fun to me at all 😞 Just curious if you are finding the same issues.

Would love to hear some reports, too.

I have a couple of travel agent friends on the symphony. The bars are roped off once they reach capacity (not sure what capacity is). Can't stand at the bar, have to get your drink and sit down. Kids club is limited to 20 guests. Escape room and laser tag are closed. Curious to hear what others are finding.

Following, and expecting very few tips/protocols/comments regarding 'use of common sense'.

On Harmony, they announced the casino now is non smoking, and this morning they asked people to replace their masks after taking a sip of a drink when indoors. Most people are playing along with protocols, except of course elevator capacity. Maybe 5% showing noses when walking about, better than at home.

Thank you for reporting while still on vacation. That is very nice of you.

I’m hoping I and reading too much into what you are saying.

Are you saying that after each sip of a drink or bite of food that you are being asked to put on your mask while still at a table?

I have no problem wearing a mask while walking to my table at a restaurant or bar but I draw the line at wearing one In-between bites/sips trying to enjoy a meal or a cocktail.

Thanks again for the updates, we are supposed to sail next month on harmony and it is helpful to get live reports on the newest protocols.

Just off Freedom this morning. We had to keep the masks on in the shows and while walking indoors or waiting in line. There was actually a little more policing than when I was on two weeks ago, staff asking people to please raise their masks to cover their nose. People were still smoking and drinking in the casino - but had to keep their mask on if they weren't actively doing so. Everyone seemed to self regulate on the elevators and if there were more than a handful of people they would wait for the next one. On deck everyone still went maskless for the most part. Certainly not enough discomfort to make me reconsider cruising!

Thank you for this info.  Cruising Royal C. in a few weeks.

Good to know.

We already had capacity limitations in bars on Oasis before the latest restrictions.  We went to a show at the Music Hall, and when I went to the ladies room, when I returned I had to tell them I was already inside earlier.  There was a line waiting to get in.

Curious about the availability of hand sanitizer and masks?  I assume sanitizer is everywhere?

I cruised last week. Hand sanitizer is literally everywhere. I took my own but never needed to use it because dispensers are all over the ship. Cant miss them.  Masks are in your room, at Guest Services, and cabin stewards have extra for guests. But, I took plenty with me to cover a 7 day sailing. Plenty people had their own and asked for one if they needed one. No problem with sanitizer or masks.  They are truly doing a lot. Cleaning all day. Telling you to wash hands before entering any dining venue, including bars and lounges.  It's easy to make choices that will help you feel comfortable when on the ship.

Just off Adventure this morning. They tried to ramp up policing on Friday evening (had crew and then officers at entrances to casino and lobby about 9PM. by 11PM they gave up due to highly negative back-lash from passengers). Actually found this a little funny and ironic since the officer requiring masks had his on his chin/mouth. Did not have to wear masks for any of the shows (including last night). However, about 9PM last night the crew were going around the ship putting up "masks required indoors" signs everywhere. Had a good time on the trip but masks absolutely were a major inconvenience (walking from 3rd floor to 11th floor with a mask on sucks). Definitely rethinking if we want to do our upcoming cruise with the new policy.

I was worried that was going to happen (replacing a mask between each sip). I have a feeling this will ease up after the Christmas and New Year's cruises. In any event, Omicron is now the dominant strain in the US. It's moving fast, and this should pass us quickly.

No. There is nothing about “bite of food”. They only asked people to put their mask back on between sips of a drink (actually, “pull down your mask, take a sip, and put your mask back”) when indoors – and that was only asked once during the morning Cruise Director PA announcement on our first day at sea. It wasn’t repeated in today’s announcement, and hasn’t been practiced or enforced that I can see.
