I said the same thing in a post yesterday that has disappeared. 

 

School and university staff have very defined vacation periods (summer, Thanksgiving, Christmas-New Years, Presidents Day Week in some parts of the country, and spring break which can vary slightly).  Not surprisingly those are the cruising periods where demand is high and discounts low.  It will be interesting to see if Princess includes them in the offer.  If they don't IMHO the offer is just a PR stunt.

Considering President's Day and Spring break are over and these cruises must happen in 2022 - we have about 7 months. Anyone cruising in the next 2 months, have already paid final payment.

Good point!  Our payment for our cancelled (by us) July 2 cruise was due April 2nd so mid August payments are due about now.  And that leaves hardly any summer weeks (many schools start for teachers by mid August), Thanksgiving week and the Christmas-New Years period.  It will be interesting to see how 'generous' Princess really is.

My summer is pretty booked with a couple of cruises, family reunion and weddings but I’m going to look into this promotion.

 

I teach at a university.  My summer break is now until August 27th—I can certainly squeeze in a cruise if the price is right!  My home port is SF; waiting to see if the 10 day Alaskan cruises are included in the promotion.  
 

This semester’s been tough, transitioning from a fully online environment to face to face!

I received the email promotion today and got verified quickly! Unfortunately, Princess won't apply the discount to my already booked cruise for June, despite the confirmation page stating it would be located in my cruise personalizer. You have to apply by May 30 to receive the promotion on May 31.
