Digital Princess Coupon book

Yes, I know the coupons in the coupon book are worthless to many.  But, lucky us, we'd likely us at least of couple of them.

The question I have is for those of you that used at least one coupon. Did you just show them the coupon on your phone?  Or did you have to print out a hard copy and hand it over?  Curious, since there really is no direction in regards to using one.  It does say that one can print it, but never describes what "presenting"  the coupon to use it means.  I know I could print out the couple we might use, but I'd much prefer the convenience of just showing it with my phone.

Thanks for any tips on that.

On one of our cruises, a passenger had the Customer Service print them a coupon.  Don't know if they are still doing this.  I would only print the coupon you wanted to use but can't imagine not being able to show the coupon on your phone/tablet.  I looked the coupon book over while at home and didn't see any that we would use.

And what do you do if you do not have a phone?

How do you even know what coupons are available if you do not have a phone?

In our case, the "existence" of the coupon book against our account was known to the Princess system on board, we never had any need to show anyone that we had them. IIRC I went to Guest Services and had them print out the only page that was useful to us, the one for the free bottle of plonk in the Specialty restaurant.  This was a few months ago on the Sky, and it was good that I did have a printed copy of the page, as the staff had no idea what I was talking about when I asked for the free bottle.

I printed all my coupons.  I took the page which included the coupon for the casino, get $10 spend $20.  The cashier cut out the coupon and added the $10 to my casino account.

How far in advance did you get the email?  I see on our travel summary for 8/8/22 that one is included but we've not recieved anything else.  Thanks

I'd like to know this as well. We've actually never had one of these (or noticed it if we did), but it is noted on one of our upcomings.

The cruise was back in Dec so I'm guessing about a month out.  Didn't pay attention to the email at first.  Daughter also  got the email  with the coupons  for the same cruise.  None of out cruises since then have had the coupon book attached.

are these coupons issued by Princess or travel agencies?

The book is by Princess, but it comes through the TA.  But it's clearly a Princess book.

Thanks for the responses!  As my opening post indicated, yes, most are useless, but I know we'll use the casino one and probably the bottle of whatever at the SR.  LOL

I guess I'll print out those two and if by some strange act, I can use others, I'll try my phone or go to Pass. services.

Happy sailings!

As for timing, for our cruise departing on July 29th, we received the email with link to the coupon book this week. So about 3 1/2 weeks out. Not sure we’re going to use any of them.

We used to look forward to the BOGO Specialty dinner on the first evening. Now that's not available any longer we don't even bother to go at all on any evening. I guess they don't need the business.

What’s Plonk?

It’s a cheap or not very expensive bottle of wine.

Technically, it's really mass-produced wine using average or lower-end grapes from harvest.  Any low quality wine that is typically not aged and often doesn't display much character of the grapes or type of wine on the label.  Think boxed and other large formats as prime examples.  Actually, you can also find plonk type reds that spent time in barrels and oak used to cover up shortcomings in the fruit.

There can be well-made wine that is also good value and may not be all that expensive compared to other options for same type of wine.  Certain areas of the world provide better value than, say, better brands from California or France as examples.

It sounds like the specialty restaurants are staying pretty busy without it...

That's what we found our on last trip (from word of mouth).

Maybe the people just didn't like the regular DR or buffet food?

With the negligible price upgrade between Plus and Premier, it is very easy to see people getting Premier with 2 specialty dining experiences included. On a recent MSC cruise the night bookings for the steakhouse were full by the second day.

Thank you so much! Do you know if you can use that shore exc. -10% for one tour just for 1 or up to 3 people if they share the same cabin?
