I have a steel straw in my suitcase but it is utterly useless when it remains in my suitcase during the trip. Also I did not even ask for a straw but since it was presented I automatically used it.😝

The paper straws they had on our last cruse in April lasted for the whole drink.

I like this one.  It telescopes up to 9.25" and it has a carrying case you can hook to your lanyard when you're not using it.

I've seen reports that Only 15% of Americans regularly wash their reusable grocery bags.  I wonder how many are meticulous about keeping their reusable straws clean?

I have several, and they stand up great in the dishwasher.

This. I was pleasantly surprised at the paper straws on our August Emerald cruise.

I brought a bunch of plastic straws from Burger King and only wound up bringing them home with me. I found we didn't need them at all and the paper straws provided by Princess worked good enough. 

I certainly wouldn't go to the trouble of having to carry and wash out a metal straw after each use. It's just to much bother for me.

No one answered your question. You can't buy x-long straws on board, but you can buy one and bring your own.

Oddly at work we have these “plastic” drinking cups; but the cups are SOMEHOW compostable..why can’t they make a straw like that cup??? (To feel more “plastic” than paper)

I thought maybe this topic was about the issue that some Princess bars carry short straws for smaller glasses. I have ended up with one of the smaller straws in a tall glass. Totally useless! I do bring my own straws now along with a cleaning brush as they do collect “gunk” after a day of use.

The straws on the Emerald in August were tall enough for a Bloody Mary, so they 'worked' for me. I think in the past they were shorter. Oddly enough, now the problem 'could' be the opposite...if you want to stir something in a short glass, I think they only have tall ones.

Sorry, but I don't see the correlation whatsoever between a canvas grocery bag that holds packaged groceries and a straw that you put in your mouth and pass food through.  And if the straw is a personal one to be used by one person only, it doesn't have to be cleaned to the level of surgical equipment.  A quick rinse is going to do just fine, with a couple of extra seconds spent wiping off the silicon tip.
