Just off Navigator (D+ 600 pts) and very disappointed with the gift choice... (we're not wine drinkers so we always get 2 cokes and four bottles of water but this time only one coke and two waters) got a plate of stale/hard chocolate chip cookies on arrival, a plate of two apples and an orange on formal night. Letter in our cabin saying no tote bags or beach towels (which I have way too many of already) had slippers on my choice but didn't even get those.

I did tell our suite steward and concierge and it took 4 days for them to bring our other coke and two more bottles of water. This was probably the worst service we've had to date....and yes I certainly filled out my cruise survey !!!

Hi Ashland, sorry to hear about your bad experience on the Navigator...did you speak to the Loyalty Ambassador? (Maneesh)

* If we ever cross paths someday...I'd be happy to trade all our sodas for your wine...wink .

No...I always missed the timing of his onboard hours. I would definitely make the trade:classic_biggrin:

I also just got off Navigator (on Friday).  I’m D+ with 580 points and always choose the savignon blanc.  I’m entitled to 3 bottles but only had 1 when we checked in.  I called the Loyalty Ambassador (you don’t have to visit-you can call during his set hours) and was told they now give them on day 1, 3, and 5 but would bring all 3 if I preferred which I did.  I received the other 2 the next day.

We have had a similar experience on some cruises (but not all) with our 2 bottles while we have been in the 340-524 range.  Sometimes the system is set to deliver one bottle on each formal nights and we have no say I’ve which bottle on which formal night.  Needless to say we think that is a controlling way to go a a gift.  We like to have the wine in the stateroom on day one so we can have a glass on the balcony whenever we please.  By the evening of the second formal night, most of that balcony time is behind us.  Like you, when we discover such plans we ask that the LA have the wine delivered sooner.  Perhaps a few managers (F&B?) think this is a nice way to handle the C&A wine

I'm in the three-gift range, and I don't drink wine.

I used to always get the Classic Soda Package (I drink diet cola instead of coffee), but now I get a six-pack of Coke Zero for all three of my "amenities".

The last several cruises, I've had 19 Coke Zero cans in my room (three six-packs, plus the "welcome beverage").  Now I don't have to purchase the soda package anymore, and I always have cold soda in my room fridge!

This whole offer is just a farce.

I selected juices from this list. I called C&A. They told me they couldn't take the request and I had to email it.

I sent an email, and heard nothing after a couple of weeks. I sent a follow up, and heard nothing again for another couple of weeks. Now they've just come back and said juices are not an option. They only have Sprite and Coke.

Plain ridiculous.

That is very strange.  I called the number on that brochure and they read me the offerings.  I do not remember if juice was mentioned or not  I have never had them tell me I had to email them.

Like so many others, I miss the days when you could go to the website and see your selections and also choose what you wanted.

a plate of cheese, desserts, more cookies etc.  Some kind of food item that you could easily get yourself from the WJ

It is a nice treat to have them delivered to the cabin.

Unless you're diabetic and eschewing all sweets.  I have had to ask room steward to remove them so I wouldn't be tempted.

So easy just to throw them away of you don't want them.  That's what the cabin attendant will do.  I don't like the cookies and just toss them in  the trash can as soon as I enter the cabin.    Wish there was a way to  cancel the cookie delivery.

They make excellent frisbie's for the sea gulls to chase as well.  Of the gulls or other birds are not around or fail to catch them, I am sure the fish will eat them.

I have also been assured they are biodegradable so no worries from the environmental police.

For some reason, I feel funny about throwing food into the stateroom wastebasket. It makes me feel a little guilty/ungrateful (I know it shouldn't since I didn't have a way to decline them), and also the stateroom attendant has to sort food separately from other items from the wastebasket.

So, I keep them in the stateroom until I see someone down the hall has put their room service plate out into the hall (which they shouldn't do). I put my cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, etc. onto that tray.

When we have food in the room we no longer want, we simply find our stateroom attendant and ask her/him to please remove it the first chance they get.  This has worked every time.

Similar to what we do we just leave a note on it so he knows to take it. But on the Oasis in January Royal of course didn't have the C&A item we ordered so we had to take a cheese and fruit award instead  but that was delivered about 3:00 pm and our cabin attendant came in about 6:00 pm and we weren't in our cabin so even though  we had barely touched it he took it. Such is life I guess.

When I get treats delivered from C&A or the casino (or even bring back cookies from the buffet) I've learned to hide them in the closet so the steward won't take them before I'm done.
