Good location for a decent large and well lit Jigsaw table. They can turn into a really social area when they’re out in the open and not tucked away

And there was I thinking it would be a Spin Studio.

I regret that there will not be a casino on new Crystal.   I like to play for a bit and my friends do also.

IMHO- prefer the casino over the dance hosts!   Perhaps a new lounge area as the cove is so limited in seats.  La Dolce Vita on Silversea is a very nice multi-purpose lounge with bar to sit and read, hold trivia, meet people and entertainment later in the night.

We do not know this as fact.  All that is known is that Crystal has not announced a casino on either ship.

Keep hopes up and remember, always split aces and eights.

Well, I lost that bet.

OK, I read the FAQ.  I'm not ready to let go of my hunch that casinos are in Crystal's future.  Their statement sounds a lot like my prediction that they'll throw a little furniture into the space until franchise/operator deals are worked out

The other reasonable possibility, from a business POV, is they'll make it an interactive showcase for expensive A&K land excursions, both tied to cruises and independent of them.  But as a place to read, relax, hang out? That's it?   With all that real estate in Palm Court under utilized the majority of the time?  From the corporate POV that would be fiscally irresponsible.

I'll still put my money on black(47.4% chance of success.)

Very sorry to hear this.  I knew everything wouldn't be exactly the same, but for some reason I didn't think there would be a complete elimination of the casino, perhaps a smaller one.

New company,new things.

I am not sure if you are serious or not but there won't be a casino and putting the furniture there was not to buy time for a casino.  Will the space eventually be used for something else, that is anyone's guess.  A casino, I would wager (no pun intended) that a casino is not in the cards (again no pun intended).

I'm sure there are people who won't cruise Crystal because no casino - they always seemed busy.  I used to go occasionally but probably haven't been in at least 5 years.

I'm not sure why they decided no casinos but I'm sure it won't kill the cruise line but it will cost it some customers.

Not sure why they needed more sitting and talking space because there always seemed to be plenty and with reduced guest capacity...

I hope all those people who don't do boards and who don't pay attention to details on web site don't get too upset when after they are on board they realize their evening entertainment is gone.

This is why I remain stubbornly skeptical about the demise of the casinos.

As I've already said, the only other use I can see for these spaces is as an interactive space promoting/selling A&K land excursions, both tied to cruising and independent of it.

But as just a sit and read/chat space?  I cannot see the business sense in that.

Let's wait until we board to see how it works and what it becomes.

The space could be turned into a multitude of uses.

The casino area would be a perfect place for  bridge cruises to hold classes/ tournaments. We were on a cruise years ago. And a large bridge group would take over Psalm court in the evenings.

Wouldn't Psalm Court be better given over to a Gospel choir?

How about a "Seaborne Square" equivalent?

Except that Crystal already has a very nice computer room, an outstanding coffee/snacks venue (The Bistro), a great library, a functional guest service area, and a comfortable future cruise desk area.  So all that would be left for this area would be a place to sit, chat and read...exactly what has been proposed above.

Moving all of these into the casino area (and I doubt they would fit), would create a new problem of what to do with the abandoned venues.

Our exceptional teams in Marketing, Hotel Operations and Destination Management are building unique experiences that will take place in these lounges.

When I saw these words I immediately thought that this will be where we will sign up for shore excursions, future cruises and other A&K destinations. Like their marketing center. Plates of cookies, glasses of champagne…. have a seat and our sales rep will be with you.

One of the ships (can’t remember which one) doesn’t have windows so I’m not going to just be hanging out in there.

That would work only if others don’t need to walk through the area to get to other parts of the ship. If I recall you walk through the casino to access other areas. That design was likely to encourage passersby to lose some money
