Hello friends It’s time for another Sea Dog review and it's going to be live. This time we will be on Adventure of the Seas which has a special memory for Linda and I as it was our first Royal Caribbean ship and cruise for our 20th wedding anniversary in 2017. We sailed from San Juan a week after Hurricane Maria. When we flew into the airport it had no air conditioning and was on emergency generators.

We celebrate our anniversary by always cruising in October around our date October 18th.

Note: Happy Anniversary to my dear wife today! This year the dates did not align as much as we wanted them to but boy the itinerary sure did.

As with any Sea Dog review I love to tell stories and I love movies. So let's get this story started with a trailer. Let's hype this cruise up.

Our cruise is a 7 night Eastern Caribbean with one stop that I have been trying to book for over 5 years, Tortola. I had a cruise booked there in 2021 and you know what happened?…💥 boom…..a pandemic….all cruises cancelled. I was heartbroken. Fast forward and now I have this one booked. I have always wanted to visit the BVI with its beautiful islands, crystal clear water and white sandy beaches. While in Tortola what better way to see all these things than take an excursion to Jost Van Dyke and White Bay home of the famous beach bar The Soggy Dollar. More about that later as it it took a very unexpected turn.

So who’s with me? My lovely wife Linda, Mrs. Sea Dog and some dear Cruise Critic friends, some of which were on the infamous "Bella Cruise" that was so "EPIC," including @jmh2006, Jennifer and Dave, @Husky1987, Larry and Andi, @Momof3gurlz Deb and Andy and @Mo&Fran, Francis and his wife who are doing B2B2B and have already been on board for week, will be along for the fun. This is a great group and we enjoy being together for fun and cruising. We just turned Diamond on our last cruise in March so I will be excited to visit the Diamond Club for Happy Hour (** if we are now still allowed) and take advantage of some of the perks even though we always buy the drink package. We also purchased a 3 night dining package.

So permission is granted for you to come aboard. Join us and as always Cheers!

We are back home from the Equinox, and THRILLED to read your Live. Happy Anniversary!

Greg, any plans for a group meet up with the Bella squad?

Yes we all met up for the sail away yesterday and then in the Diamond lounge and later at Schooner Bar. Stupid me did not get any pictures. I’ll do better tonight. Have yet to hook up with @mo&fran but hope to soon.

See over packing post above. 😆

Just wait till you see our luggage in the hallway on Bella 2.

🤣We will be neighbors there...... Shall we split for an inside across the hallway for luggage?🤣

Looks like a nice blue sky with no impact from storm Tammy.

We're doing yard work / leaves and trimming bushes today.  I sure could use of those Kraken Coladas right now!!   Enjoy🤩

Too windy here to do any outdoor work.

We had an uneventful flight which is always the goal.  Arrived around 2:45 pm, Ubered to the Hilton Marina and room was ready.  The only negative? The zipper pulls on one of our suitcases we’re completely torn off so the zipper is no good. Thank goodness I had luggage straps on it!  So we walked a half mile up the road to a TJ Max and bought a new suitcase.  Had dinner at Gilbert’s 17th Street Grill (amazing burgers - thank you @A&L_Ont) in the same plaza.  Currently enjoying a Cosmo back at the Hilton.

I am very interested in your take on the Hilton Marina. Do you have any pictures of your room? Would you book again there or elsewhere?

I have looked at it so many times, but the reviews prevented me from clicking the book button. Hence I am asking.

I was wondering why we didn't see any pictures of the group yesterday!🤔

We stayed at Hilton marina last two trips , love that you can see the ship from your balcony .

What's a Bella cruise?

A lot of us were on a thread in the float away lounge named for someones dog. Hes been poofed from cc, but the group still exists. Bella 2.0 is on wonder, and 2.5 one day later is a 4 day on utopia. It's a way to cruise and run into familiar faces. I'm not a joiner but like their cruises.

Sea dog was on bella1.0 oasis last spring break. Lol. What a time to pick, but it was someones birthday and we didnt think of 2000 plus kids.

My wife and I are on the AOS next Saturday. We’d really appreciate it if you would share the prices of the independent tour operators (especially to JVD). Our shore excursion to JVD we booked through RCI was cancelled.

I’m stressing about taking a taxi to the West End, ferry and taxi to Soggy Dollar and then the opposite to get back to the ship.

Cheers and Thank You in advance.

I’ll check the excursion desk tomorrow. Our JVD excursion was cancelled too so 4 of us are chartering a boat from Chillout Charters to take us to the Soggy Dollar. Not cheap but split makes it tolerable.

Sea dog if you are on adventure I just read a comment from a fellow passenger. They are glad the Mdr cut off people who booked early Mdr after 25 minutes, they shut the door.

They did it tonight. My time dining is a joke. The line was all the way out the entrance and wrapped around to the doors of the deck. We made arrangements with head dining manager and escaped all that.

Well I’m learning that the earliest you can book My Time Dining is 6:45pm the early seating for traditional is 5:30 and late is 8pm so it makes it difficult to try and schedule something earlier than 6:45 for my time. I hate the way they have structured the dining times.

I’m with you on this.
