New format test

Okay, it's Friday at 10:37 p.m. on the East Coast.  Experiment is over.  Fix this forum, please.  It's an overwhelming fail.

Well Friday - at least EST - has come and gone.  Unfortunately it doesn't look like the new format went with it.  Oh well, so much for listening to your members......

I looked up EST America and Google says as I am posting this it is 3am so CC staff might still be asleep😄. I think it is fair enough to wait till the sun comes up at least.

I think weeks end on Saturday not Friday. And it still says test.

A suggestion for next time:

Perhaps give us a heads' up!  And also maybe start a new CC section for us to try it, so it (whatever "it" it is 🙂 ) doesn't interrupt ongoing discussions?

 

Or perhaps a true pilot test.

I'm sure you can find some CC members who are likely to enjoy something new and some members who are, er, let's call them [us!? 😉 ] more like traditionalists at heart or maybe just old-fashioned... but also include some who might tend to focus on some of the intended/unintended consequences.

Thank you! It was such a pleasure and relief to open this board and see the old format.

 

This board is my daily reading. It gives me ideas about future travel, especially cruising. I read the other boards dependent on my plans (cruising on Princess? There's a board for that) but this board is where I start, always. 

 

The people who post here are so helpful with questions, directing posters to the proper board for their questions, politly and patiently answering questions that have been asked countless times.

 

As been said before, there can be several "best" answers to a subjective question, not just one.

It was a test. I don’t see why anyone’s self respect would be lost. The overwhelming majority didn’t like it. So you would have had the admin implement it anyway? That would have been sad.

And it shouldn't matter whether they were "for or against", but in this case, the "Naysayers", as you put it, were the vast majority *and* were what the forum Mods decided as well.

So... "Huh!?? "
