Watched the video, other than jalapeños what was in the drink?  Lime juice?

I’ll have to ask.  He first went out and came back with a spice mix on the rim.  What I remember there was lime, toquilla, orange Cointreau.

We next crossed the street and explored the very vibrant Financial District.   Iain had been there before on business but couldn't remember where Bank of America had it's offices.

As we headed back to the ship we passed the Royal Palace of King Kamehameha.

King Kamehameha I, also known as Kamehameha the Great, is the nephew of Kalani‘opu‘u, the former king of the Big Island of Hawai‘i and part of Maui. For the first time, Kamehameha brings all of the Hawaiian Islands into one kingdom when King Kaumuali‘i cedes the island of Kaua‘i to his rule.

We weren't sure what we were in the mood for lunch.   We decided to check out the OVC.   On the way up Iain said --- What I really wished they had were those wonderful meat pies.

What can I say... I personally fulfilled his wishes and arranged it to British Day----- Meat Pies, Fish and Chips etc...     What can I say I always fulfill all his wishes...

I had a Chicken Pot Pie and Iain had a Beef pie.   Yum... perfect to finish a perfect morning.

To further my treat--- while Iain napped I ran down to al Bacio and they had those fantastic Lemon Tarts with a little chocolate ball on top.   For some reason on port days they only serve them on plates instead of those little bags.

Tonight is the first of the three Chic night.... Not sure if we are in the mood to Tart it up.

Sail away is scheduled for 6:00 PM and we are off to Hilo.

Thanks Jim for the Honolulu terminal information. Did you see the Explora? I saw her sail by our hotel around 10:30 this morning. I just happened to be on my balcony at the right time. 🛳️

Yes she has been there all day. image.thumb.jpg.82f2dc4aaebdc141fbf75a0164c05477.jpg

A spicy margherita .. I love them.  The rim is usually a Tajin seasoning.  Some mix the seasoning with sea salt, although there is sea salt already in the seasoning.

We next had to visit the Royal Hawaiian.     So many fond memories.   My best friend worked there as Head Waiter for decades.    We use to go there almost every night after work along with Marie, out matriarch who we adopted.    We also had friends who performed 'ukelele and Hula at the Mai Tai Bar every night.    Unfortunately they are all now gone.   They may be gone but will always be there in my memories.

Would have to agree with tubs.   When I remodeled our house i removed the tubs and did oversized walk in showers instead.       I can't tell you when I last took a bath.    I know many love them...

We are on the Aft Slant --- they also have them on the forward slant, but thought the aft would have some protection from the wind.

I put on my Bose Headphones this morning and  listened to the home news while relaxing in the lounger.    I often pair them to the TV so I don't wake Iain when I'm up early.

Agree about the tubs too....

The Aft slant is what we have booked too and found on our TA's that it kept the wind AND rain away so that we were able to enjoy our balcony every day....  great suite...

That is what I Love most about the Celebrity Suite, a separate bedroom. DW is not an early riser so I can get up and enjoy the cabin and deck while she sleeps.

Cheers!

Totally agree….Cruising is about seeing the world, fine dining, meeting others, entertainment and much more. However, for many, the best part is the opportunity to enjoy some quality couple time…As you say, the smile says it all…

Yup!

PapaFej likes to tell me that there are so many places in the workd that he wants to kiss me and hold my hand.

We are strange travelers, indeed. We've walked upon 6 continents, and seen Africa from ships as well as from Gibraltar (we will actually go to Africa next year), we've been all over the South Pacific, we've sailed over the Arctic and Antarctic circles, the Tropics of C&C, the Equator, the IDL and the PM, we just spent 12 weeks in Asia ... but we've never been to the Caribbean. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Comment re bath tubs..We disiked the one on BEYOND ( sky suite).  It was oversized & Combined with the  shower..  It took up alot of space,  was very slippery and did not have enough grab handles..felt dangerous..used it once!

We have one tub at each of our homes.  Our grandbabies love it..and us too... therapeutic when needed to soak!

Nice try X but rather have just the shower!

Would you consider sailing on the Explora ?

I looked at it and think it has some nice rooms.   Would consider if the right itinerary and price.    I think that is currently our view of most premium lines.

We have one follower that was boarding her today.

I asked last night and it was a Spicy Mango Margarita  -  You are correct it was Tajin on the rim, Mango Juice, Taquilla, Cointreau and Jalapeno.

Quick one for John, regarding stubbing your toe on the door stop in the bathroom.

I was a bit puzzled as I had never stubbed my toe on it.... Ah Haaaa moment.

You need Iain.....    He always shower first and when finished folds his towed on top of the bath mat.    Covering the door stop.     I had to look for it to find it....LOL

I usually don't use it much but siting out there now as we approach Hilo.    Perfect 72F and while it is currently in the morning sun it is very comfortable.
