How far from your cruise date have you booked a cruise? I have seen some unbelievable numbers. People have cruises booked for almost 550 days out. The longest I booked in advance is 269 and that seemed like a lifetime.

Our first cruise was probably between a month and two months in advance. However, since then, most of ours have been closer to a year in advance. This gives me plenty of time to save and plan.

Got one booked for summer 2018 (not on Carnival). I try to stay under two years out because that's about as far out as you can get comprehensive trip insurance that includes waivers for preexisting conditions.

Depending on the cruise line and itinerary, there is often far greater value to booking immediately when itinerary is announced.

My longest was 546 days and that cruise is still 375 days away. Luckily I have one in between that at 110 days.

We cruise almost every year in August. After our last cruise, we booked another one for next year in August. So, 357 days out.

Just take a look a my signature...and that cruise was booked almost a month ago! These days, it seems like booking early gets us the best rates. And because of our jobs, it really helps to have vacations planned a year out. We are now looking at options for March 2018...

Have two booked. One is 382 days away, the other is 747 days away.

 

Waiting for a sale on Black Friday or Cyber Monday to book a short 5 day out of Charleston in March of 2017 to tide us over.

I've usually booked a year in advance or as soon as new cruise schedules are released. Just booked May 2018 and going also in April 2017, which was booked early this year.

Booked on March 10, 2015 for January 15, 2017 cruise, 677 days out. Friends from our Jewel cruise said they were coming back to town for this cruise.

I'm definitely in the 2 - 4 month range. I can't stand trying to plan so far ahead. Preferably, I'd book 2 - 4 weeks :)

 

But I also don't have a regimented lifestyle where I need to plan out work vacations, school, etc. etc.

Book cruises usually 18 to 12 months out.

booked our July cruise on Conquest in March of this year. That was a little over a hundred days away. When we got home from that I had cruise-is-over blues so we looked around and found a long weekend in December to go to Nassau. That was also booked a little over 100 days out. Now it's only a little over two weeks to go until that cruise BUT I started thinking I didn't want that cruise-is-over blues gain so we looked around and found Panama Canal partial transit for April 2018.

 

We can enjoy our long weekend in December and already have a cruise to look forward to after that.

 

 

and I have planted seeds for a 4 or 5 day next summer just because it seems like over 500 days away is too long to go without cruise lol.

Our Carnival Splendor cruise to Hawaii was the furthest out we ever booked a cruise. It was 707 days out when we booked it.

Usually around three or four months, next one is just under a year, then I've got one booked for Next December and had it booked for months, so about 18 months.

Furthest out I've ever booked was 558 days. April 2018 partial Panama Canal transit. Thankfully I have one coming up in January or I'd go stir crazy!

we've only booked a couple of cruises before final payment. i actually was confused when the travel agent told me i didn't have to pay in full at time of booking. i would guess we book most cruises from 2 to 4 months out.

748 days. Booked my Vista Mar 2017 cruise in March 2015 while sitting on the beach in Bonaire.

Taking advantage of an onboard booking and WOW sale on Royal in May, from the date I booked until my selected cruise date in 2018 was 638 days. Luckily I have a cruise booked next month, and one in the summer to fill in the time.
