Would be nice if they added a level between gold and platinum, maybe no priority boarding/party but maybe free laundry?

Gold to Platinum is bad, but getting from Platinum to Diamond is worse lol! :o I am hoping for something between that 75 day mark and 200 day mark!

You could get your answer a lot quicker if you went straight to the source.

Thank you so much. Are there special "perks" for booking a suite? I'm not a frequent cruiser with Carnival but my kids love it. So, I book Carnival when they're traveling with me and I've been very pleased with the service/entertainment and food.

The only "perk" for booking a suite is priority check-in and boarding. Other than that, you don't get any extra special treatment.

And when they do you will be grandfathered in what ever status you are in, or moved up depending on what the break is. They won't downgrade you.

Last time they grandfathered people into the Platinum level but people who were gold but didn't have enough sea days to stay at that level were downgraded to red. It happened to my husband. Previously you were gold after your first cruise and there was no red. When they made the changes people who had less than 25 days were no longer gold but red. So saying they won't downgrade you is probably not accurate.

About a week or so ago JH made another passing remark on one of his videos about an additional level.

Sent from my XT1585 using Forums mobile app

I remember last time JH brought this up he was talking like Carnival's goal in changing VIFP was to get first time cruisers back on the ship. So it didn't sound like there would be any benefit to more loyal customers.

I agree! A new level around 150 days would be great. My level hasn't changed since Carnival last updated VIFP. That seems like a very long time ago.

I have reached diamond level (200 days at sea) in 28 cruises. I think that the more levels there are, the less they will mean. It would be like giving every player in a kids baseball league a trophy. and having it really mean something to them.

I already have a bunch of those trophy ship-on-a-stick things. The last thing I need is something else to dust. Lol.

I really believe that Carnival believes that once a cruiser reaches platinum, they don't have to provide much in the way of rewards to retain that passenger. Carnival's more interested in investing in first time cruisers to bring them back to Carnival because that equals more profit.

Unfortunately I still have to work for a living and have only been able to take off work enough to do about 3 cruises per year the last few years. And that's only because I have a lot of years on the job to enjoy max vacation time. I'm pretty sure most Carnival passengers aren't even that fortunate. I'm happy for you that you are in a situation that allows 7+day average with Carnival. I just book when work allows me. Hopefully in retirement I'll be able to take advantage of longer cruises that you enjoy.

To be honest, Carnival's VIFP perks aren't relevant enough to keep my loyalty. The only reason I've been cruising Carnival the past few years is because of their casino offers. All 3 of my cruises last year were freebies, and one of those was in a balcony cabin to Alaska; my third cruise to Alaska.

If I had to pay full price for my cruises, I'd be booking with a cruise line that has a more restrictive smoking policy.
