limit to # of drinks per day on drink package?

I was just reading about something totally unrelated, but the person said that the person involved probably had drank the limit for the drink package that day (something like that).  Now I do not believe there would be any way for me to meet a limit on alcoholic drinks imposed by a cruise line when I have seen others drink so much in a day.  Although I did purchace the 10 drink package with just a few days left on my last cruise (think that was RCL) and I did drink all of those.

I was just wondering, does NCL have a limit to the number of drinks one can get through drink package (obtained through perk) in a 24 hour period?

Another fun question:  What is the most any of you have drank in a day and still felt OK the next day?

No, Norwegian doesn't impose a maximum limit like Carnival does.  You can start in the morning with a Mimosa or Bloody Mary or a Cesar and go on from there til you get to a bedtime toddy.

Can't answer your fun question as I don't drink, cheers!🍹🥃

There is no limit to the number or type of alcoholic drink except maybe your budget on the high end top shelf stuff.

Since you are not piloting the ship or driving a car (shore excursions excepted) there are no liability laws about

letting someone drive drunk.

That noted for your own safety NCL may cut you off for your own good either for that day or permanently for the

welfare of those around you depending on how you conduct yourself. Very rare extreme - booze blacklist !

In general I get tired before I get plastered - as for after effects aka hangover those damn sweet drinks leave

a cottonmouth moccasin taste in my mouth needing a heavy application of a sponge to resolve the condition. LOL !

Let's see soak the sponge in beer and apply liberally - - -

There all kinds of tails/tales about drinking -

Drink coffee after drinking and you have a wide-awake drunk - for one.

I am sure that our esteemed members here at CC can concoct more !

There is no daily limit on NCL.

I don't think I've ever been "cut off" from drinks.  Oh well, that would be a first

I haven't had a hangover in more than 20 years (I just usually don't drink much, but this is my first vacation with my brother who usually drinks every day) and don't really want one now.  Thinking I'll make myself drink at least 2 glasses of water to every alcoholic drink.  I also heard something about some vitamin supplements that you can take and it lessens hangovers.  My mom is also on this trip with us and would probably have fun messing with me if I was hung over 😎

most lines or certainly some do have a limit: ncl does not.

That being said, I guess it depends on the individual. Of course we drink a lot more now that we have the perk and it makes no difference, but I doubt we have had more than about 10 in one day and that is including wine at dinner. We will have one in the morning either by the pool or in the atrium bar: a couple after lunch plus a glass of wine for lunch. While we are relaxing before dinner either playing trivia or sitting around the piano bar we will have 2. At dinner we will have a before dinner drink and a couple of glasses of wine. That leaves us a couple to have in the casino, while listening to music after dinner or just to take one back to our cabin. I guess we may on occasion have a dozen. At home we have a couple or three glasses of wine before dinner or a cocktail. Quite a difference wouldn't wouldn't you say? 🍷🍸

You should be fine-  you can also just spread them out and start early in the day and have maybe 2 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon etc... drinking water in between is a good idea.

Everyone is different, but I am not a big drinker (probably average 20-30 drinks a year and most of those in the summer/vacations) and I only got buzzed once on my last cruise drinking mostly foo foo drinks. I think six or seven was the most I drank in a day. I probably averaged about four.  I thought most were not that strong. Obviously six scotches or beers or glasses of wine would affect me more.

If you get the UBP are you still charged gratuities on each drink?

Yes for US booked cruises, no for Europe (and Australia I believe) booked cruises.

I've had over 10 glasses of Merlot and felt just fine the next day.  I do get a bottle of water with each wine (using my casino drink card to get the water)

Think if I had a glass of water with every drink I would be up all night using the bathroom. I do drink water but that much.

As for 10 drinks a day; of course it isn't healthy for anyone, but we are not talking about on a daily basis, we are talking on a once or twice a year vacation. I don't even drink anywhere near 4 glasses of wine a day when at home: usually 2, once in awhile like yesterday, 3. At 82 I am still getting along fine and no serious health problems at this point. Now, that doesn't mean I will be able to say no problems a week from now. Who ever really knows.

Just married off my oldest daughter and I only drink scotch. We were able to supply our own alcohol for the wedding and reception.  I woke up early the day after with no hangover and there was a major dent in the amount of scotch left in the bottle. I am by no means an alcoholic but the distilling process for scotch removes some of the toxins so I am never hung over. In the course of the wedding I am sure I had more than a quart.

no one said to have 10 drinks a day, or even that I drink 10 drinks a day.  The OP put out a fun question about how many drinks you had in ONE day (meaning once) and still felt fine.  Damn, lighten up people

In my early 20s I could drink quite a bit without feeling ill the next day.  That stopped in my mid to late 20s and I pretty much quit drinking more than a drink or two max in a day (although I did get drunk on an excursion with my mom a few years back don't really remember having a hangover).  I'm now 49.  Might be finding out this cruise.

I have only once witnessed someone cut off at the bar at NCL -- she was a weepy drunk & was drawing a good deal of attention.

On the other hand, I have seen severely inebriated people continue to be served, many many times.

So, yes, NCL may cut you off if they deem you to be too intoxicated, but it's pretty rare.
