What’s the platinum gift right now?

Just off the Paradise on Monday and we received two cheesy lanyards. Left them in the cabin. At first we thought they were from the casino then realized they must be the Platinum gift. Totally underwhelmed for our loyalty - thanks from Carnival on our 36th Carnival cruise.

I can’t believe that Carnival continues to give away such a crappy platinum gift. They must have a warehouse full of cheap lanyards down in Miami. It’s very bad for the brand image. Some Carnival V.P. should have quickly and quietly burned down the warehouse full of lanyards and replaced them with something else, even if it meant going back to one of their previous platinum gifts that wasn’t mocked out by the very people that you are trying to reward and impress. Here is one last closing thought. Please remove your lanyards from the ship...these guys are just cheap enough where they may attempt to re-gift them. Let’s get through the lanyards as quickly as possible so we can hopefully move onto something more appreciated.

I am a big fan and very loyal to Carnival. However, if your main focus is cruising for perks, you need to pick a cruise line other than Carnival.

Me thinks you have not only missed the point, but missed the train.  What do think the purpose of this gift is?

Although I don't use the lanyard, we gave ours to my step-grandchildren on our last cruise and they loved them.  I'm not sure how you can "class-up" a lanyard.

I cruise Carnival to enjoy myself and so far, they have delivered on my last 25 cruises.  I don't need, nor expect, a gift to thank me for my business.  If the gift is something I can use, great - if not, I'm not going to complain because it was, let's see FREE.

To you all calling the perk a gift, i must misunderstand what a gift if. The gift is a reward for cruising a set number of days. If it was a gift they would be giving them to everyone. I would not have cruised twenty six times if I cared about the reward. Still say this to all cruisers when you get the lanyard make sure Carnival can be read and throw it overboard, but at least quit giving them back or they will never run out.

Never got a lanyard until a few weeks ago on the Pride.  Thought it would be fine but the cheap plastic split/tore inserting my sail card.  They should use a sturdier type of plastic.   I would have used if it didn't tear.  Got the tumblers on our Sunrise cruise back in May which we use a lot.

Sailing on the Magic in 2 weeks, and boy do I need this vacation!!

I think it is nice they give a gift no matter what, but I don't think anything will ever beat the duffle bag.  I have used it so much, it was my favorite gift by far!
