You deserve this option more than others with families. I don't agree!

I don’t think you and I will ever agree on this.  I (along with 100 or so other cabins) paid a high premium to have exclusive use of the Havana area.  Had I chose to sail with any of my grandkids in the same cabin I would have had to find another room.  But I doubt I would have brought my grandkids to a wade pool so close to an open bar anyway.

Every pool and whirlpool on Carnival are next to a bar area! My daughter is safe because she is right next to me. I have no problem with exclusive areas, just give me the option to book, or have a reasonable alternative. I do enjoy the family fun areas and slides, that you are not excluded from. What if Carnival said the water slides are exclusive for Family  Harbor guests only? Would that be fair to you? I enjoy the aft view, quiet area, time alone with my family. Enjoy your next cruise.

If it helps I wish they did offer more pools/hot tubs on the Carnival ship for everyone.  Even my daughter (parent of my young grandkids) was a little jealous when I showed her videos of how quiet the Havana area is knowing she will not be able to access this with them for 10 more years.

On my September cruise I never bothered trying to get into the lone overcrowded pool on the Fascination.  And the serenity hot tub on deck 9 that was suppose to be exclusively for over 21 had several teenagers take over & just claimed to be 21 when asked by staff.  And there is no bar near there.

Hope you enjoy your cruise too!

All families who frequently travel aboard a Carnival Cruise Ship, and help maintain the cruise line, let us unite and stop this exclusion of our families from any area of the ship! By golly, this is America isn't it. Before you know it, we will be banished too only one deck of the ship, and must guarantee our children will be quiet, dignified citizens on our vacations. No jumping, laughing, playing, or crying allowed! #save the Carnival families aboard the Carnival ships

Are children under 12 allowed in to the Havana area after 7? Do you remember what age the children looked like? Do you think with this rule, you won't find similar incidents as you did in 2019?

If you’re under 12 and/or not booked in a Havana cabin they are never allowed in the Havana area now .. 12 years of age minimum and booked in a Havana cabin to get in now.

@Oldskl

If you have kids under 12 and want to use the Havana area, book a Havana interior next to a regular interior on decks 6 or 7.  Problem solved. Send your kids to Camp Ocean or Night Owls at night.

You can also book a 4 person Grand Suite and have access to the Havana area. Kids stay in the same room, you have access to Havana area when your kids are at Camp Ocean. Everyone wins.

(Although, with that said, my five year interpreted the closed door of the Havana rooms area on deck 7 to = greatest place in all of heaven and earth so I MUST enter.  Thus, from now on I will not be booking a Havana room and sticking my kids in a non Havana room. In fact, I probably will book them in the same room or leave them at home in the future.)

I don't know why it is quoting Oldskl, but I have no problem with them making the Havana pool area over 12 or for Havana guests only as a parent of a 5 and 7 year old.  I like having my adults only time and Camp Ocean runs something like 15 hours a day.

With that said, I do think it silly they don't let you even book kids in the Havana rooms on decks 6 or 7.  Fine, make deck 5 adults (or over 12) only, but Deck 6 and 7 already has non-Havana cabins right next to Havana cabins. Might as well let my kids stay in a room with me and just exclude them from the Havana pool area.  They already do that with the Grand Suites now (i.e. allow guests under 12 in the state room but exclude them from the Havana area.)

I didn’t book our 3 rooms in Havana until they made the change; my family (older teens, 40-something, and 70-something) are looking forward to the cruise but didn’t feel comfortable with the cost/area when it was open after 7pm to the entire ship.

Thank you! The 4 person Grand Suite option sounds like a great choice. My six year old loves and spends a lot of time in Camp Ocean, but we also enjoy entertaining together as a family. My wife and myself travel internationally extensively, and this is our family time to relax and catch up. My daughter loves the pool and hot tub like Dad, so we spent a lot of time enjoying the Havana area in the past. Especially at night among the stars!

When your daughter is 12 years old,  book it!

Just guarantee your daughter will be quiet, a dignified citizen on your vacations. No jumping, laughing, playing, or crying allowed!

I would happily pay for it. Carnival rules don't allow it! As I stated earlier, there needs to be an improvement in all the whirlpool and pool areas aboard Carnival cruise ships.

Your issue is the age restriction and I can understand that.  But it is designated as an area for adults and teeangers only.  Once your daughter is 12 you can also enjoy the area.

The larger the Havana area is the more crowded is the main part of the ship.

The larger  the Havana area is the worse the whole ship is.

"Exclusive areas" is a malignant tumor that has affected Carnival too.

NCL Encore represents the end stage of this disease.

I respected this brand for having the balls to keep their ships fully egalitarian.

Now...do they want it to be Carnival Celebrity or Norwegian Carnival?

Happy cruising!

Tell us of the accommodations
in steerage, Mr. Dawson.
I hear they're quite good
on this ship.

This trend is because People  want the convenience of a mass market line without having to deal with the “masses”

I book Havana and look at it only as booking the area because It is an option I can choose from.

I don't follow trends.

Quite good! Some of the best I’ve seen. Hardly any rats.

Heh.  Yeah, I'm going on this ship.  It seems like maybe it was geared more for Alaskan cruises.  The whole "class" thing is disappointing.  I don't care about slides, laser tag or racetrack.  I chose because it was new.  I found the graphic quite telling, and that's exactly was I was thinking.  I'm hoping for the best.  We shall see.

The ones with the parents were definitely under 12.  The one with the ice cream cone was over 12.  I would not expect these issues with the rule change.  All the trouble people I ever saw came in after 7 and were not staying in the Havana area.

But I'm 100% certain that you'd complain if they were staying in the Havana area. You would probably go on here and beg Carnival to raise the age limit.

We stayed in a Havana Cabana room last year on the Vista.  This was the most I ever spent on our "balcony/patio" any cruise we have taken.  For those worried about people walking by there is a locked door that can only be opened by Havana guests.  After 7, I didn't notice any issues with guests being rowdy.  Granted we were mostly in the casino and not using the pool area.
