Love those legos. Have been doing those Christmas theme ones with my grandson, and already have a couple of the other sets waiting for next Christmas.

Traditional Christmas dinner when we are away from home. Many others had the same idea.

Graham, glad your op went well & wish you a seamless recovery.  Sorry I had to quickly scroll past your photo so I didn’t how many stitches but I hope you have the same cream we have here that makes the stitching scars virtually disappear.

Thank you @aussielozzie18

Paulines cousin lives in Adelaide and they are in daily contact so she will ask her.

Her husband was at the Adelaide cricket ground the other day watching the 2nd ashes test match.☹️

I hope you had a lovely Christmas day.

Take care and stay safe.

Graham.

What is that guy doing?

He is shining one side of the cricket ball.

He is a fast bowler and if one side of the ball is shiny it helps the ball seam and swing which makes it more difficult for the batsman to know if the ball will swing in to him or away from him.

Graham.

Which Hal ship is the ornament?

Oops.  Should have shown one of the Royal Carribbean  Ornaments!   It is Noordam from my only cruise with them 14 days to Papua New Guinea and Far North Queensland.  Managed to a dodge a cyclone.  Lovely ship. Wonderful crew.

First  Christmas without Dan.  Did not go see the family.  Had stone crabs with my friend here at the house.  Pretty sad day all in all.:classic_sad:

Sorry. The "first's" without someone are very tough. It is the memories that help get you though.😔

Prime Rib Tonight

500 degrees 30 minutes in oven, then turn oven off and leave Prime Rib Roast in for 2 additional hours, with oven off and do not open the door until the 2 hours is up.

It was really good!

We tried a new method for our prime rib.  250 for two hours, then 500 for 15 minutes.  We usually do the reverse, put it in at 500 for 15 minutes then drop the heat.

My friend in NJ does it your way......dh says he'll try your method next year.😀

Looks like he is holding up the front of his shirt and taking a leak.

A lot of cricketers especially fast bowlers have red marks on their trousers off the red cricket ball where they try hard to keep the shine on one side of the ball while the other side is dull.

This is what causes the ball to swing and is a big asset to a fast bowler.

Well today I get to take the time and reflect on the  last few days.

Christmas Eve we celebrated with our daughter and son in law.

Dinner consisted of:

Shrimp cocktail to start

Prime Rib

Twice baked potatoes

Green Bean casserole

Caesar salad

Hawaiian rolls

Dairy Queen Oreo Blizzard cake for dessert.

Then, opened gifts and just relaxed and did something old fashioned,

we talked as a family.

Christmas morning had a breakfast brunch

Consisted of

Blueberry waffles

Sausage and bacon

Scrambled eggs

Rye toast

No pictures because we all agree graciously it was a time of people and not electronics.

Then

One off my best friends had surgery a few weeks back and the family she has left, well, she thought Christmas spirit would bring them together....................it did not.

So we packed up a Christmas meal and took the gifts already bought, that I was going to deliver this week over yesterday.........................the look on her face,  was all it took to make my Christmas complete.

Then what to do what to do for Christmas dinner.

It would be just me and the spouse.

We did not want leftovers.

A couple carry outs were open.

Vietnamese, Mediterranean, and Chinese to name a few.

We settled and enjoyed General TSO Chicken, and flied lice, and egg rolls of course in quacker sauce.

Today is our DD's 27th birthday and of course being the literate mom that I am posted on that other media site.

Take care.

Keep the joy and happiness of the Christmas Spirit alive and live it every day

♥️

Happy Birthday to your Daughter.  That's a great age so many joyous moments ahead for her and her hubby💕

Now as far as your dinner goes, sure hoping that was fried rice and not fried lice🤪

This is the first holiday week in 3 years since we have all (kids, spouses, and grandkids) been together as a family.  Looking forward to enjoying the sun and sand in Fort Lauderdale this week.  The kids lucked out that none of their flights were cancelled, and they even arrived early.

Drove by Port Everglades this morning, and saw all the ships there.  This time next Sunday, we will be waiting to board in Miami.  I am already eyeing next January’s cruise, and hope to book it onboard.

I have taken video of Jonathan coming down the stairs at Christmas every year since he was born. 21 years in all. I will not video him this year as he is out on his own and 22. But I will always have his video to remember every Christmas.

Here is the video of Jonathan Christmas Through The Years.

That is so awesome and very moving!  What a precious treasure you created over the years. ❤️

As the Christmases go by, I hope the wonderful memories start taking away some of the sadness.
