Wow, you started young.  I guess if I count the concerts that were at Lakeside I started young too.  Not sure if anyone here has heard of him but I remember a trumpet player named Al Hurt showing up there.  He was good.

My favorite was when big orchestras would be there.

I remember him .

We saw Aretha in Atlantic City, she was great.  My first official concert was seeing the Turtles, we were happy together!!!

In the 80’s I won tickets to see the Turtles but I was not able to go.I could not find anyone who wanted to go so now they are a souvenir. When I won tickets to Live Aid and could not go I gave them to the son of a co-worker.

I sure you were happy together.  No matter how they toss the dice it had to be.  So how was the weather!

It is tough.  Sometimes if I've been away for a bit I just jump into the last three pages and try to pick it up again.

WHATT!!!  And here I am wading through every post so I don't miss something important. 😱😂 😂

I usually go back 5 pages, unless there seems to be an in-depth, interesting,  long running conversation I might back track even further.

Or if I'm really bored & have plenty of time on my hands.

When I am in the car I probably listen to No Shoes Radio on XM more than any other music. The Coffee House is probably second. Chesney just has some really good music.

This post reminds me of a prior post you made about Sirius XM and The Coffee House channel.  As a result of that, I went in search of TCH, and also found channel 16, The Blend, which has become my go to station.  Thanks OB.  Now I'll have to go look for No Shoes. 😁

We saw a lot of performers in Vegas but Elvis was the standout.  Wayne Newton was still very good and young when we saw him.  Bobby Darrin was probably one of the best we have seen.  So many good shows and so inexpensive!  My favorite, Tim McGraw, we saw in New Jersey at the Arts Garden. I could just look at him, he does t need to sing!!!!

I was thinking I was the only old one here. 😂  I've been waiting for someone to say Elvis!  I was fortunate enough to see him in two different concerts, and is still the most memorable.  Neil Diamond was another good one.

On November 6, 1986 I went to an after work retirement party with a friend and I met a guy.  He was younger than me, I was a single Mom to a 3 year old, shy & quiet. He introduced himself and we spent most of the night talking & dancing.  Our first official date was 3 days later at Chuck E Cheese with my daughter and we never looked backed.
On February 19, 1988, 35 years ago tomorrow , this happened:

Here’s a pic of me with said munchkin as my flower girl:

A couple of years after this he adopted the munchkin and we went in to have two more daughters.  I sure am glad that woman retired and had a party!

Many congrats on your 35th wedding anniversary. 💑

Hope you have a lovely celebration 🍾

The Blend is in my Favorites, along with channels 6 (60’s), 7 (70’s), 8 (80’s) and No Shoes.

With all of the concerts discussed here, I'm surprised that no one mentioned the Dave Matthews Band.  I've never been able to get into them personally, but I've talked with several people who love them and have seen them in concert multiple times.

For sure - been to many DMB concerts.  Always a great show.  Similar vibe/following to The Dead, Phish, Buffett.

Yes was my last concert before heading to college.  I enjoyed them.
I saw you mentioned Jethro Tull.  Saw them 3 times.  I loved his stories he included in his concerts.  Did you see The Hare That Lost its Spectacles ?  A play off of Alice in Wonderland.
They used to have concerts at Cleveland Stadium called the World Series of Rock.  It would be all day with several bands.  This is were I saw Santana.  It was so good.  After them that evening CSNY played.  I was glad N. Young was with them.  I like his music when he is on his own too.
There were so many concerts in the Akron/Cleveland area. Probably why the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is in Cleveland. Belkin Productions promoted many of the concerts.

I never saw that concert but I did see Passion Play with its incredible theatrics. I can’t remember the first one I saw.

Never saw them in concert but I have several of his concert dvds that I’ve watched many times as I am a fan of his drummer Carter Beauford .

And know 2 quick comments on going to concerts.

1.  Jackson Brown played at Kent State University as the first concert in the new gym after the Kent State shootings in 1970.

His concert was around 1978.

There were long lines to get into the gym, you had to pass security, where they inspected all, girls to one side boys to other.  It was a very lets say thorough "Pat Down" and I soon realized why I was separated from my date.  🙄  Lets just say, it patted down all bodily areas from stem to stern and then some.

Now as the concert progressed and the song "Running on Empty" started, my then date pulled out a joint, now mind you after the pat down I had and now wondering how he got that joint into the concert and was thought provoking, and I did not partake. God only knows where it had visited. Being a nurse I was never ever going to put my license on the line, and never in my life tried any illegal substance.

After that concert, a few weeks down the road,  we kinda went separate ways.

2.  I was a groupie to one person, and that was Harry Chapin.

I was able to see him in concerts In Akron, Cleveland. He even came to our hometown Stambaugh Auditorium 3 hours late because of a snow storm and he played well into the night.

After that I went on vacation to Denver Colorado and saw him in concert.  He commented on how he never missed a concert may have been late but  "even in snowstorms" he eventually showed.

I shouted out  "Youngstown"

He goes "Who said that"

I stood up, and waved.

Next thing you know security escorted me on stage, and he shook my hand, gave me a guitar pick and sang a song as I watch on.

It was a moment I will never forget.

I miss his gift of music

May he RIP

Take care

Sue

A quick thanks for all the Anniversary wishes.  We’re headed up to New Hampshire today, staying overnight at one of our favorite spots, The Bedford Village Inn after some outlet and LL Bean shopping.

Happy Anniversary ! What a beautiful story and thank you for sharing your photos.  The Bedford Village Inn is one of our favorites, too . Enjoy your day !

Had a great time last night attending a VIP open house of our brand new KCI terminal. Thanks to the airport public relations director for getting me tickets. The construction has been going on over the last two years. This $1.5 billion project features over 40 gates, a 6,000 car garage, many restaurants and shops and local commissioned art throughout.

A lot more walking than the old 3 smaller terminal system. Lots of space. I like the people movers.

Bag claim is downstairs with plenty of room.

The terminal opens next week and we will fly out of it on March 11th for the Bella Cruise. With a 6:30am flight, I have peace of mind knowing the layout and where to go. I hope all of you will get a chance to fly into Kansas City and see this new terminal.

I went to several concerts back in the 70's but don't remember much about them.  That time is what I fondly call now my "fuzzy years"😇🤣

That was the 80's for me.  When Vikki describes our youth she just simply states that she was in the band class and I wasn't.
