Back from our tour today.  We visited Dynjandi Waterfall.  The top one is a bridal veil and then 7 falls from there.  It was so spectacular and then it started to rain.

A full rainbow on our way back to the ship.

Renee, @ReneeFLL, this little Icelandic Air plane was approaching the landing strip while we were  in the MDR.

A couple whales outside the Windjammer just now.  Just caught one though.  Can you see it?

I thought of you and Pauline at church this morning.  I am staying with my aged parents and was trying out my father’s car for the first time.  I was out in their village at 9:30 this morning to do the bottle recycling run.  I chose a time when there would be few people - but some were clearly on their way to church.   My father’s car is very old, dodgy clutch and me having to drive on the wrong side of the road.  I managed - and I thought about Grapau and Pauline.  The rest of the day at about 27 C was great for me for gardening.  Every time I come to England the weather is great.

Thank you for thinking of us.

The weather is forecast to be warm and sunny all week.

I hope you have a wonderful time with your mam and dad.

Church was lovely this morning.

Graham x and Pauline x.

Great pictures. I saw the airplane come in, but I was on CC on my iPad and didn’t have time to get my phone out. I can see the whale in the front left. Maybe we should get together tomorrow? Let us know when we can meet up.

I see the whale. That airport reminds me a bit of the one on Saba in the Caribbean. I have not flown into it but we have cruise by it at night. Also, it looks a bit like the one on St. Maarten where my brother and I had the experience of being blasted with the jet exhaust of a 747 spooling up for takeoff. I wish our parents had caught a picture. Surfing the fence. It was good to be young and stupid. I will never forget it!🙂

Merv has been kind to me.  Sometimes he makes me know that he’s around and I just have to be kind back to him.  I hope the injection you had for your knee is working finally and be fine for your October cruise

My knee injection has not worked very well which is what I was afraid of. Having a torn meniscus and torn ACL along with the arthritis is not helping with the injection. At this point I will suck it up and enjoy my cruise on October as much as I can and then get my replacement surgery November 3rd.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I think we hit 90° today.  Granddaughter is in the parade tomorrow, so we will be there, and enjoying some good music and festival time.

Now that Susan and I don’t have our grandson here, we are spending more time on walks. Saw these two tonight.  They lost almost all their spots.

Sorry to hear it didn’t work out as planned, Greg.  Hope it doesn’t impact the enjoyment of your cruise.  Probably a good thing to get the replacement done.

@ReneeFLL Ships docking in Halifax used to be greeted by a bagpiper . If you are on a Cunard ship they serenade you arriving and departing.  You’d have to check if they still have that tradition.

That sounds cool. I’ll have to see if they do.

At this point I don’t think it can get any worse. I may be limited on how much walking I can do in day. I am on a mission to enjoy myself no matter what.

Good morning.  My dad in Australia, ordered a handmade crochet gift from a friend in Hong Kong for the daughter of friends in Hungary.5F9A7EE6-FC72-4693-BFEE-9EED5D887FF9.thumb.jpeg.f206f787a94fd05635457c6ac398b2d5.jpeg

Dad paid for the  lovely bunny & mini ballerina.
Dad also received an unexpected bonus gift from his friend just for him. Cute koala in surf life saving gear.C796E217-BBC2-4243-BD54-4A6642B55E9B.thumb.jpeg.338917789ecfc9d12c8d71fab4a98b2c.jpeg

The family in Hungary said please don’t post bunny etc just yet, as they are currently holidaying in the Dolomites in Italy.
A photo from their trip.  Look at these cable car cabins.  I looked them up, they are historic but fully operational and known as coffin lifts.  Located in Sassolungo, Dolomites.FF32036F-AA0F-4331-AF15-0E08DFD20790.thumb.jpeg.838c728b84eccd852a4d938671c84500.jpeg

Have you considered renting a scooter for your cruise?

You can always rent it and use as needed.   Check out www.specialneedsatsea.com for standard scooter rental.

With all the walking you will be doing at port, etc you will appreciate having it should you have a bad day.

These crocheted animals are adorable.  Very sweet of your Dad. 🥰

I don't think I would get into a coffin lift.  Besides the name, they look a bit scary.

At this point I probably will not mess with it. And to be honest I see how people treat people on scooters on cruise ships and it's deplorable. When I see someone waiting to get on the elevator with a scooter I make sure to hold the door open for them and make sure they get on first. People are so rude trying to board before someone on a scooter. I just don't want the hassle of being treated like that.

@Sea Dog I know you like to follow the Burning Man festival, Greg. It looks like they are having kind of a miserable time of it, this year. ☺️ It has been on the local news and online.

Yes I have been following. What a mess but some of the videos I've seen on YT and other social media sites indicate that most people are dealing with it and making the most of it. No one who ever goes to Burning Man expects perfect weather but usually it never rains.
