Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Ha ha ha! No worries about the bourbon! I am not a drinker at all. I do like fancy frozen drinks like mudslide, miami vice, french caribbean, etc without the liquor. I always read  your St Marten posts, kraken, tiki stuff and drink posts to Dh and now he occasionally asks me "how is  your drinking buddy Greg". 😆😁🤣

Too funny. I know I may sound like an alcoholic but really I'm not. I just like good food and cocktails, plus a ship and a ocean.

I will never forget the time this younger man was in the office and I saw that he was missing a molar and I asked him what happened to it. He told me his dentist gave him a price to fix it and a price to extract it. The man could not afford the price to fix it so the molar was pulled. I felt so disgusted that a dentist would pull a salvageable tooth over money. This happened years ago and I remember it clearly to this day and feel just as disgusted now as I did then. I can't imagine ever tailoring a patient's medical care based on his/her ability to pay for it.

It has happened to me on more than one occasion.  Root canal and a crown or extraction which is a fraction of the cost.

I had the best dentist in the world in Rockland County, NY. until he retired. He sent out a heartfelt letter to all of his patients explaining how retiring "early" was a difficult decision and how wonderful it was getting to know us, having the privilege of taking care of our dental needs, considering us family.  He was old school, didn't even have a hygienist.  He did it all and did it well.  His wife was the front desk lady checking patients in.

It took him quite a while to sell his practice to someone he felt would continue in his footsteps.  I used him a few times until I moved to TX but it just wasn't the same.

Thanks to all who helped with the movie selections. I went a different direction…

I just signed up for Britbox.com and am binging a show called Shetland. It about a small town as Scottish detective.

Very interesting story so far.

We love that show.  Only problem is sometimes I can’t quite understand their accent.

We have only done Nuuk so far. It is a bit "rough" looking in places with ugly (for lack of a better word) warehouse-apartment buildings etc., but it has pretty spots and clearly the coastal and snow-covered mountainous areas are very pretty.

They could do quite a bit to improve tourism if they wanted to...

Told they are getting a International Airport soon , so you will be able to fly there soon for the weekend escape. lol

If available,  watch Broadchurch. It's a detective show, also in a small town with lots of twists & turns.

I checked for the title but it's not there but it seems I've got a host of unfamiliar shows to try. 🙂

No you don't sound like an alcoholic! Connoisieur of fine spirits is how I would term it.  We know how much you enjoy it and he is amazed at your liquor knowledge and love reading all about your drink experiments and your tiki backyard and your Christmas enthusiasm!

Is closed captioning available?  We would turn it on when watching Peaky Blinders and it helped a lot.

I'll have to try that...

I've gotten through 6 episodes so far and I'm addicted.

Eric and I are both casino slot players.  Him more than me.  He has been doing well this cruise but I have been doing the up and down dance.

We just had a really nice experience.   While playing a slot machine he was on last night the casino host walked up to him and asked if he was missing a ticket from last night.

He said yes, when he got back to the cabin he realized he didn't have it and went back to the machine as it was for $1300+   noone was at the machine and no ticket so he came back to cabin upset.

Casino host said someone turned it in right after he left the machine last night so they viewed who played and held it at the cashier desk for Eric's return tonight.

We asked if they knew who turned in the ticket so we could thank them with a reward but she didn't know.

So nice when something like this happens.  The world still has plenty of good people.  And on cruise ships.    We wish the finder best luck!!

Wow,that is amazing .

So I started to take pictures and DW asks... "what are you doing..."  me: " I'm going to post pictures of the trailer on cruise critic". DW: "Oh no you aren't, It's a mess...there's laundry to fold not the bed, the dishes have to be put away, none of the pictures are hung, blah blah blah blah..."

I'll post them but I'll have to wait until she gets organized probably by Saturday LOL.

Soooo, have you folded the laundry, put away the dishes and hung the pictures yet? 🤣

Nope not laundry and dishes is done but pictures and decorations aren’t.  We’re moving again on Friday so DW doesn’t want to put them out yet. Once we’re set up properly I’ll take the shots.

Any chance that you'd be willing to post a few of your epigrams Lenny?  I'd love to know what was interesting enough to you in HS to write about.
