Doesn't hurt to look, right?

Even though this is a RCL forum, I'll put in a pitch for Viking if you're considering options. Nice smaller, quiet ship feel to it, no casinos, no kids, no photographers hounding you for pictures every few hours, no extra charge for specialty restaurants, no wifi charge, no charge for beer and wine at lunch and dinner, no art auctions. All that being said, the price of those items are probably already built into the initial (higher) cost than RCL and larger lines. Still, I did not miss the presence of kids onboard (terrible for a retired teacher to say, right?) AND especially did not miss photographers. We've only done one cruise with them so far, which unfortunately nearly ended in disaster - but that was an exceptional situation. Have more booked for '23. As to RCL and Celebrity, we've always liked them due to not having to fly anywhere. 2+ hour drive to either Bayonne or Baltimore.

I always found the whole X / RCL comparisons to be interesting being that both are owned by the same company!!! So is X supposed to be the 'luxury division' of RCL, just like Lexus is the luxury part of Toyota?

I made it through my surgery.
It hurts to cough or even move, and they’re going to make me get up and sit in a chair.

I was visited by vampires and ghosts of past, present or future all night. So now I’m really sleepy and still they come! I feel like poor Scrooge. Typical hospital torture!

Breakfast was Jello and apple juice. In tiny cups. I won’t drink the broth till they make me! I’ve nothing but liquids since Monday at 5:30 pm. Here it is Thursday!

Won’t know anything till pathology results tomorrow or next week.

I wondered if you were near there from your photos. And as I just confirmed, Hale Koa is the military service hotel. Our friend's condo overlooked their beautiful property last time we were there. Your view looked familiar. We stay down at the Ilima, which is an old cruddy hotel, with huge rooms and full kitchens, very close to Waikiki beach. :classic_biggrin:

HK: That's where we went for the luau.

I have already started my detailed planning for the next cruise in January on Oasis.  Susan told me she needs to plan for Thanksgiving before she starts to think about the next cruise.

Then, in the next sentence, she says we should plan for a cruise in March.  I see a few Celebrity sailings that appeal to me, so my research has started. 😁😁

We are on the Silhouette March 28. ABC and Cartagena. Just saying.😉

You will feel better soon.  When do you get to go home?  I am wishing you real food soon!

Same here, glad you're AFTER, and took the time to update us 🌷.

We were rooting for you and following closely for good news. A big hurdle behind you now.

🤞 the pathology results will be: "the borders are clean".

I remember when I had surgery years ago, had to be on a liquid diet for two days prior…then I made the mistake of saying I felt slightly nauseous after waking up from the anesthesia…which resulted in my being put on a liquid only diet at the hospital for three days.  By the time my husband came to spring me I was ravenously hungry and told him to stop and get me a sausage and egg biscuit before picking me up.  He arrived with only ONE biscuit sandwich!!!!  I snarfed it down and made him stop on the way home for me to get another…and a milkshake. 😛

I am so happy that you took the time to post.

I remember being quite sore after my emergency abdominal surgery.

It happened so fast, and I did not have time to think about it like you did.  That had to be stressful for you, but it is done!

The best thing to do is walk and sit in chair.  I hated them then, but it did prevent gas cramps as the healing went on.

Drink your fluids.

Rest when you can.

Better days ahead.

Prayers continued.

Mimi, so good to see you post.  Thanks.  Thankful all went will and hope you recover quickly.  I am not a fan of the liquid diet either. Do you have any idea when you will get to head home?  Hope your day gets better and better.

That's my "issue" with those ALL included lines....

Retired -- no need for constant contact with the "outside" world.

I don't drink, and DH will enjoy, mostly in social circumstances, a sole glass of wine, or a beer, per day.

And, may be, we're not "attractive" enough, but no photographer hounded us ever 😦

I'll agree with one of your three reason. No need for Wi-Fi.

I can't agree with the other two reasons and especially your last reason. 😉
