Geoducks, pronounced gooee ducks. They are giant horse clams. As kids in WA, we used to always try and dig them up like regular clams. But they have a giant syphon and they are really fast, and very difficult to sneak up on, before they blast down through the sand. You're supposed to dig a parallel hole and then slide a flattened can or shovel underneath them. We were always unsuccessful. (Stock photo) 😀

There is a light house cookie joke here somewhere.

He is back 😊 !  After 4 weeks of ill health, DH is again in his natural habitat - the kitchen 😉

Prepping the ingredients for the ramen (hand made noodles, forgot the eggs....)

and the end result, oh, so tasty.

Good to see the chef is back!  This reminds me, I have been meaning to make noodles and use his technique of hanging them on a clothes hanger.

The "technique" works well 😎

He forgot the eggs for the ramen [not for the noodles].

I asked him how many does he need, he replied "one for each", I said "we have enough", he thought I'll "deal" with them, and I thought he will.... 😠

I just had a surreal experience.  I often have bad dreams where I’m trying to get home but something prevents me.  In some of them I’m trying to call Uber/Lyft and something goes wrong with my phone or some such.  Basically it’s bad dreams of frustration.

So today, a beautiful day, I took DH’s car to go shopping.  We alternate cars…but his has been driven in the past two weeks.  I get to the first stop…and the car goes completely dead on me!  Actually, it starts by telling me it can’t locate a key fob.  Um, how did you allow me to start you up and drive here?!  Then it tells me Action required:  Roll down and up driver’s window.  Um, I can’t do that…you are dead!!  I push the On Star button…surprise!!!  It doesn’t work if your battery is dead!!

I update my Uber and Lyft apps with our new address and my current credit card…and get an Uber to drive me home.  DH is off at his shooting club.  Extremely nice Uber driver.  He has a ball cap on his dashboard indicating we share the same political views. 😁

I had planned to go to a clothing store I’d never been to before that is having a 19% off sale celebrating their 19 years in business.  Is this a cosmic way to prevent me from shopping?

One other thing to note about Fiona the hippo.  Each year, she chooses a Super Bowl winner (by selecting between team logo enrichment items).  In 2020, she chose Kansas City by vomiting on the Chiefs item. I'd apologize to @Sea Dog for this but since the Chiefs won that year, it was a good omen.

People laughed because my granddog picked the winner of Survivor 44.

Happy Friday everyone  - having a drink in honor of my friend (and barber) who passed away yesterday way too soon.  Viewing was today.    About 2 years ago he went to ER with extreme headache pains and left being diagnosed with brain cancer and  maybe 1 year to live.  He fought for 2 years and got to take his wife and 3 kids to Disney and to the beach one last time.  45 years old.  Harsh reminder of how fragile life is.  Please join me in a toast to Matt.  Cheers!  🍻🍻

What a difference a day makes. Twenty degrees cooler and a fog bank sitting off the coast.

It was about 20°cooler here, too, but still nice and warm for April in RI!

The little beach a couple of miles away from me had only two people on it around noontime, but we didn’t have any fog. It may have “burned off” by then?

Maybe you are on the bay? The fog has stayed all day on the south coast.

@dani negreanu Good news , Dani about your husband.  Looks delicious and I agree with you about the missing ingredient.  I hope , you can now reschedule your trip to Marrakech and Madrid.
