Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

Mid morning photos.  The peonies are starting to open. They have been “here” before I was born. Planted by the owners 2 previous to us. I just transplanted them closer to the house.

I also took this photo to see how quickly the grasses grow behind the fire pit wall. They have grown a foot this past week. With the rain we just had and the hot spell coming I’m curious to how tall they will be on Sunday.

It is more convenient than going to a laundry mat. We have a walk out basement. It is like another level of the house. When we built the house I couldn't see taking up living space for a washer and dryer. Though I admit sometimes I wish it was a one level house or at least had the master bedroom on the first floor.

I only searched for homes to rent that had a washer and dryer.  Won't rent one with out it. 😉  Easy search feature to plus in.

I lived in Michigan until 1981.  We had two story homes and single story homes, plus many basements.  We also had laundry in the basement in a couple of them.  The ones with master bedroom, kitchen, living room, bathroom, and laundry on one floor became my favorites real quick.  😉

For walking, running, and jogging but not a good choice when riding a motorcycle. Only good quality motorcycle boots witch have offer ankle support and have slip resistant soles should be worn when riding.

That’s “Donna”.  She secures herself in a sidecar. Her hubby rides the bike.

I have the same setup, although my basement is not a walk out.  I'd love to have a first floor master and laundry.  So sick of having to carry the laundry down two flights of stairs, but we don't have any other place for it.  If I ever buy another house I definitely want one floor.

I guess it's an acquired taste 😁 I think I'd rather drive barefoot, like Bucky does, although I hate having dirty feet so that's probably not gonna happen!

I know...I am not a "bare footin' person either.  Bucky loves walking, driving, etc. barefoot.  At times I  show him the bottoms of his shoes/flip flops as to what he would step on barefoot.  Sometimes there are silvers, thorns, packed dirt, sap...and much worse on the bottoms of them.  😜

He has since been doing the barefoot walk a lot less lately.  😉

Drove down to Deer Island today, as alternative to the hiking trip.   Managed to find a really good local lobster shack for lobster rolls with a great view of the bridge coming over to the Island from the mainland.  And they had ice cream next door!!  😄    BTW...Bucky is trying to do his "Bogey" impression with a sweet potato fry.  😄

That’s one of the main reasons we bought our house ten years ago , wanted a one story.

On May 17, they began to add fill to set the elevation and pad. This went on and off for four days until the pad was complete on May 20. The elevation is set to 2’8” above the crown of the road. It took more than 45 truck loads of dirt. The dirt for the pad is really good dirt. Not like typical Florida sand, but firm dirt. They used a roller to insure it was packed.

Always fun to watch the process.     I worked for a homebuilder many years ago and always enjoyed going to the job sites when I had to meet the buyers.

Never heard of a Golpher Turtle.    That's a new one to me.

The 3rd picture down looks like a dent in the hood of a car ??   Hopefully I'm seeing it wrong.

Looks like everyone is having fun!     the lobster roll looks delicious.

I just want to wish you a Very Happy Birthday tomorrow.   I know I am a day early but I maybe very busy tomorrow as we head to our shore house to clean up from the winter tenants and stay there for the rest of the month.

We were trying to leave Thursday or today but the weather here hasn't been all that great and Eric wants to get the lawn mowed before we leave for a month.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY - HAVE FUN AND ENJOY WHATEVER YOU DO 🥰

I'd spend my entire life either barefoot or in flip-flops if I could.  No problem driving or going to most other public places in flip-flops...it's just normal for many people (in Florida, not here in Ohio).  I actually have a 3rd "mode" that Micheline hates...ankle socks with no shoes.  It's close to being barefoot but with a little more warmth if the weather is cooler or the AC is cranked.  She hates it because she mostly does the laundry and the bottom of my socks can get nasty.

Oh yeah, can't forget the 4th shoe mode of wearing golf shoes.  I wear Ecco golf shoes which are as comfortable as sneakers.  Great for 18 holes and the 19th hole after.

Single story was a requirement when we bought our new house.  My knees don't like stairs very much at this point.

Pennies showed up in the floral department in Publix last week…first time ever, as far as I know.
They’re so pretty;I wish they grew in Florida.

When we bought the house and previous owners were in the 60's/early 70's and had the washer/dryer moved up from the basement to a large closet they had built off the family room/near the garage entrance from inside the house.    Kinda like a mud room but not really.

Sure it was convenient but you could hear the machines going if watching TV in the family room.

Anyway one of the first things we did was relocate the washer / dryer to the basement and removed the walls from the area they had built for it and redid the entire family room.   It opened up much nicer than it was.
